If any of you have magic…
The Mountain addresses the group, and for a moment, Yael freezes, though she knows not why. Why should she hesitate to show her herd members a long-standing gift? Claws are better than hooves for digging - and though her shoulders are beginning to ache, and her thigh muscles are feeling rather weary, the sweat that darkens her hide is invigorating! The task is clearly far from done, it might even take days to work the crafting magic and wrangle the hot tub into completion. So… why is the ever-congenial little lady so filled with trepidation? She used to work magic much more difficult than this transformation?
Ultimately, it is because she doesn’t want to be seen as a show-off. Nobody likes one of those; when she was a Queen, it was a non-issue, but here, with a new herd, it is of vital importance that she be well-liked and earn respect.
But there is work to be done! And with that thought, the matter is settled; she backs out of the small group and gives herself some distance. She does not care if they follow her ‘retreat’ and watch what happens, but aside from the creaking of bones and stretching of skin, the transfiguration of feathers to leathery skin, and fur to scales - she hopes she is rather quiet and undisturbing. At least the change doesn’t hurt. It does leave her frozen, however, so that insides can catch up with the outside, and when she finds she can move again, her horned head shakes all the kinks from an elongated neck.
Silver-white and shiny, she pulls herself to her haunches and sits upright, placing her palms (much more suited for digging and pulling up rocks) upright in a gesture of question and offering aid. “T’essssse might be of usssssse” she says, wiggling her clawed fingers in the Mountain’s direction, her s’s sybilant and hissing through a slightly elongated maw - which opens into what she hopes is a shy smile, and not a terrifying display of sharp, pointy teeth.
