AELFWINE
Quickly, the other horses began to move as well, doing everything they could to ensure the pup’s safety as it held onto his prize. Her emerald gaze danced around, watching as Weaver joined in, using a makeshift net, then the fiery filly trying to use her wings to try and catch the pup should she miss. A bunch of others all clamored into the river with as they waited to see what would happen as the pup headed toward them. Yet before the pup could be saved, it transformed. Aelfwine’s eyes grew large and she seemed to freeze as she tried to pull her head up from the water, trying to keep the pup that sat across her brow from falling into the water. Suddenly, the transformed creature was an onyx dragon, screaming and shrieking, causing the tiny otters to over their ears. Immediately, Aelfwine tries to back up, getting out of the water and the path of the dragon, but she was too late. As the dragon swooped down to her, she raised her head back with a small whinny, trying to get the otter to hold tightly to her charcoal antlers as she tried to protect the pup. Pain erupted across her chest as the claws reached her neck, plunging in and drawing blood against her dappled, monochromatic pelt. The dragon moved on from her, but Aelfwine withdrew into herself, escaping the river as blood free flowed from her neck, with three large claw markings covered in blood. She retreated to the father Otter, lowering her head to allow the pup along her brow to hop off for safety, before turning back to the dragon in a challenging stance, ready to protect the family if the dragon turned its attention to the small creatures. The entire movement causing her pain as her neck began to swell, but her adrenaline from the encounter dulled the pain enough for her to be able to focus on the dragon. "Talk."
