She’d really just like to point out that she was right. Told you so. It is never easy.

The otter pup is a freaking dragon. Well, it’s some sort of shifting thing, probably, because it was an otter and now it’s a dragon. Weaver drops the branch as quick as she can, trying to make sure it doesn’t hit anyone nearby as it goes down. The dragon is already on the move though, leaving damage behind in its wake. Some are trying to protect the otters, and to her surprise, the cowardly girl who couldn’t protect herself is trying to draw the dragon’s attention.

Okay, that’s just stupid. Though Weaver finds herself weirdly proud of Vertigo in that moment, like she has any right to be proud of someone she hardly knows. Whatever.

She goes higher into the sky, giving herself the height to dive at the dragon. She’d rather leave protecting the otters to Aelfwine and those stuck on the ground. To those that, unlike Weaver, could actually die from the dragon’s attack. She tucks her wings to her side, using speed to her advantage, trying to strike the dragon in the back with her entire body. It was large and scaled and powerful and all she had was herself to throw at it. So she does, literally.

She spreads her wings before she smashes into the ground, hoping to have thrown the dragon off course, to have done something, but she doesn’t stop to assess. Instead, she shifts, pain searing through her body but hell, she’s always been okay with pain. In a moment, there’s a raven where she used to be. Her Raven is long gone, taken off to the safety of some trees upriver.

She heads back for the dragon, going for its face with her talons. Particularly, she’s trying to get at its eyes, knowing they might be some of the only soft spots on the dragon that she can damage. If nothing else, hopefully she can distract it long enough for some of the others to escape. Then, maybe she can snag that egg in its talons and get the hell out of here.
