The flowers and the grasses of the Steppe were not the only ones that were waking up with the warm weather. A rumbling in the earth as something much larger woke. It wasn’t a yeti making ridiculous requests - the ground itself was shifting in the mountains.

One mountain was calling to another - though, today, Isopia wouldn’t be the tallest by far.

Her name would be a rumbling beneath her hooves, a resonate beckoning that went as deep as the earth’s core.

But if Isopia had asked anyone else if they had heard it, or if they had felt it, they wouldn’t have.

The mountain that was waking shifted its body - revealing something very horse-like, though with rocky cliffs and peaks cascading down its spine. It didn’t stand so much as uncurl - its large, rocky head turning up away from where it had been tucked by its side for eons.

Its skin was uneven rock face, cracking in some parts and shining in the sunlight with minerals imbedded within in others.

Once its head was raised, it waited - its eyes did not open just yet, but it took a deep breath that caused another rumble to course through the ground.
