His Da does not promise, but the boy takes it as such. He would not willingly part with them anyway. As the bones are pushed towards him the colt collects them even closer, inspecting them yet again while he listens. Bones are inside us. The colt looks up, looking to his elder. Inside? He glances to his Da’s side then to his. It does not frighten the child as one might expect given his more delicate nature before. Though the child bore some tenderness about his apparent magic, he was not living in a land of daisies and roses. Some of the hardiness was already rubbing off onto him as they do in Helovia. But they are hard and strong. The babe wiggles slightly. Can he feel his bones? He doesn’t feel anything hard in him…only the hard ground and his Da’s firm side. He in comparison felt squishy. And hold us up… hadn’t he just spent the past few days stumbling around unable to hold himself up like his mom? The colt’s face seems to fall slightly. “I not think I have bones….” He sighes. “I not feel them.” The he looks down to his legs, as if they were to blame. Maybe the burning when he was born had burned them all. “Not feel strong.”
