Once again the colt is pulled from the edge and the gold breaths easier. At least this proves that it could be done. The first time he’d changed there hadn’t been time or reason to call him back. Now at least the might could ease some of their worries. Yet there was still so much to be concerned about with the colt’s transformation….how had it happened-

He could not delve into such traps…he and Hotaru had whispered in the night enough about it. “Yes, it is made of fire too.” It felt like he was speaking of a betrayal. Did he son already love the sun this much? He felt a pang towards his ways in the shadows, a fleeting thought to the gods…but given the reminder of their abandonment, he quickly did not feel like a traitor to allow his son to feel affection for the light. “Sometimes. It can burn and destroy. But it also gives light and warmth, which is strength too.” Earth eyes watch the babe carefully. “Fire is a powerful thing to hold.” He wondered if a child so young could grasp the full meaning of the words…the full comfort he was trying to give.
