Hope and pray that you never need me, but rest assured I will not let you down.

Kitty? Certainly it is not the most dignified name, but Lynx accepts the title anyway. He had been called far worse before, and how was the child to know what the crude picture truly represented? So rather than disagree, he simply nods. At least the colt is amused, giggling and smiling with innocent joy. The cold is seemingly forgotten for a few moments as he revels in the strange moniker, and that is enough of a reason to allow himself to be graced with such a ridiculous name. Kitty it is. The hint of a smile twitches at his lips.

The colt quiets again, cuddling against his warmth with a shiver. They will have to find a more sheltered place soon, but for the time being he thinks it more important to let Cera rest. There is no immediate danger of freezing, with the still air and lack of snow. It is still cold, of course, but it could be much worse. Still, he supposes something must be done to offer the child more heat. The buckskin ponders for a moment, unused to caring for anyone besides himself, then an idea strikes. Again, a foreleg bursts into motion, but rather than etching an image in the sand, it paws at the soft ground, throwing fine grains aside until he has made a small depression. Plush muzzle gently nudges against the two-toned neck of the foal, then gestures to the scooped out area.

To clarify his intent, the stallion carefully steps away, then lowers himself to the ground, settling along the edge of the bowl shape he had created and motions to it again with his head. If he can get the pegasus to lay down, he knows it will be easier to curl around him and share the warmth his body generates. Not for the first time, he wishes he could speak, could simply tell the paint child what he plans. Yet he knows such a wish is impossible, and pushes the useless thought away. There is simply no way he will ever be capable of speech, and so such dreams are shoved aside in order to focus on more useful musings. Such as how to communicate better with body language and gestures. Friendly eyes watch Cera intently, waiting to see if his young mind has understood what it is Lynx wishes him to do.
