Hope and pray that you never need me, but rest assured I will not let you down.

All thoughts of being unwelcome are immediately laid to rest as Cera charges forward, the exuberant colt bounding around in a whirlwind of delight. Lynx greets him by gently nipping at his mane, and tolerantly he allows himself to be ushered forward. Head is nodded in response to the painted stallion’s cordial words, relieved to once again find nothing but acceptance. Cera leaps right into introductions, revealing the stag to be his father, though Lynx notices the difference in their smells. Had Cera been adopted? It makes sense to the buckskin, who has also recently adopted a foal, so with a mental shrug he accepts the information.

Eyes shift to the white filly, Mystique, as she walks up. Another nod is offered to her, as is a slight smile. Like the other two, she is apparently unbothered by his ruined face, and Lynx allows himself to relax slightly. Years of condemnation were hard to forget, but here he is no longer considered a monster, and the kind words and actions he was granted by those he had met softened his normally harsh personality. Still, when Midas speaks again, the small buck automatically tenses again before the words sink in as a simple question. Crown shakes in a silent negative, for he has seen nothing unusual on his patrol. Sand, sun, the occasional flora and fauna, all things that belong in a desert.

His attention returns to Cera and Mystique, for he feels more at ease with the foals than he does with Midas. He makes a mental note to try introducing Beauty to them, for he is certain the black girl would appreciate the chance to make friends. Now was not the time though, so he focuses on his present company rather than dwell on future tasks.
