His thoughts were disturbed by a loud whinny, and suddenly there he was: The great stallion was at his side in an instant, it seemed, bumping his muzzle against Erigor's shoulder and greeting him. "How've you been, brother?" he asked. Quilyan. A smile lit Erigor's face; he moved his head to the side and returned the friendly shoulder bump. But one question remained: How had he been? Nothing had really happened to him in the span of loneliness he'd experienced. In fact, Erigor had nothing at all to report. This was his first communication with another intelligent (to some extent) creature in a long while. Erigor tossed his head, throwing his mane all to one side. "Fine enough," he chortled finally. "But what of you? Any interesting tale to tell?" Of course Quilyan would have some sort of story, no matter how small- he always did. Erigor's older brother could be a trouble-maker at times, and it wouldn't surprise Erigor if his recent doings involved a mare... or mares. The chestnut tobiano took a few steps away from his brother, giving himself enough room to stretch his wings. Afterwards, he folded them neatly at his sides again and returned to Quilyan's side. Now that they were together, what would they do? With a sidelong glance at Quilyan, Erigor mentally crossed out the option of a herd. Quilyan would cause nothing but trouble for sure, and Erigor did not want to make every mare in an entire herd suffer. Then again, he reasoned, perhaps there would be a fiery female. That would be entertaining. He snorted in amusement at his own thoughts, shaking his head ever so slightly. But, honestly, what other option did they have? Erigor shot his brother another glance. On the other hand, what was wrong with how they lived now? For all he cared, the two could continue living the life of rogues. |
