	Not a single shred of satisfaction followed the blood colored bastard that so readily fled from his unrestrained fury. Metal clicked open air, expecting so sort of retaliation and instead finding a clean space to defend. The coward ran with tail tucked between legs, seeming able to hold courage when standing tall before a babe; but paling out when large company came calling. Heartsickened thrums thundered quick, sending hot pounding deep in both his ears. Cera’s wrenching cries softened. Body screeched to a halt, knowing full well that if he let anger get the best now…all would be lost. The pair would have time enough for settling personal grievances; for now, his cherub needed attention. Quick attention. Thankfully Midas saw his god showing hints of mercy, Sierra, one of his soldiers landed close by. Her essence and power a welcome sight, though he was in no condition to show it. Jerking round the general quickly shifted to Cera with lowered muzzle and racking orbs taking in sight and proffered scent. Sticky sweet, but tangy bitterness met his inspection. This wound was foreign to him, tail stung armor with lashing beats. Sand flowed around them, circling and holding firm a barrier of sorts; Midas bowed then used some of the lingering granules to lift his child unceremoniously across platted withers. Turning horned face to his herdmate Midas bellowed directions, “Sierra, guard my flank; when we leave this forest, fly out—find Onni and tell her my son has been wounded,” flinging into a brisk canter Midas huffed out, “Tell her to come immediately!” This wasn’t his normal, gentle tone requests; but the order of a higher ranking general. Quartering no argument, and he expected total compliance in a situation such as this.
