There is something behind the throne
Quilyan
greater than the king himself.
|
He was not particularly fond of other males, as they had a tendency to challenge his authority. Why, he was not certain - in his homeland, he had been a crown prince, and had they harmed or embarrassed him, they would have died for it - but they did. And somehow, he always came out on top. He wondered if it would be different here, in this strange land without a ruler. He wondered if he would be looked down on, trodden upon - no. He would simply not allow it.
But this one did not seem to pose a threat; Quilyan was greeted with a respectful bow. He did not return the bow, instead deigning to nod his great head regally, the newcomer having unknowingly shown the proper respect that the prince would have been given in his homeland. "Greetings, Pegasus," the voice was neither warm nor cold, merely curious. "Who are you?" Quilyan held himself like the prince he once was, and answered, "I am Quilyan. And your name?" He still spoke warily, but he had relaxed, having been greeted kindly. |
