Thankfully he was kind enough to keep from teasing her for her lack of knowledge. Even so she was sad to see him go, even anxious. Nights were hard on her, and she didn’t want to be left alone. The previous few days where Abdullah and Romani had been gone had nearly broken the last of her courage. Bale leaving her, even if he had promised to return, made her wish to follow him on his small journey for whatever it was he needed. Body rejected the thought, reminding her that she had little energy left and certainly not enough to go parading out into the fading light with the colt. He touched her again, moving her so that she looked at him, and she smiled tremulously at his honesty. So long as she had his word, she would believe him. Watching him as he left, both worried for him and for herself. Memories couldn’t be evaded physically, and she feared that he would not return despite his promise. If that happened, could she bear to spend yet another night on her own? Did she have any bravery left to spare?

How long he was gone she didn’t know. Thin body trembled and she wished that her mane were longer, though it was already rapidly lengthening. It had been fuzzy and small for the longest time, and then out of nowhere hit a growth that made her look even smaller. However it wasn’t thick and clearly couldn’t be used as a blanket, and she wished to share her warmth with the other foal that was still away. The ground was greyish brown and dark from the slight cave, a sharp contrast to the white of her legs. Sighing softly to herself Nayati lowered her crown and curled up on the slightly damp ground. The rise of moonlight reflecting in dark rose orbs. Keeping an eye out for Bale’s return.

When he did she lifted her neck up again, smiling at his return. Why he had collected wood and rocks was behind her, but she didn’t know what fire was so she didn’t judge him. Lifting her front half to look over at him curiously, not needing to speak as she watched him move. Bringing hooves down onto the rock and creating a spark of light that made her jump in surprise and regard the rocks with a wary gaze. Would it hurt her? No, if it would hurt them then Bale wouldn’t have brought it in. Nevertheless Nayati slowly raised herself on thin legs and moved closer to Bale. Face curious, ears trained on the spotted colt. Did he need help? Sidling closer to him, not close enough to touch as she didn’t want to get in his way, but peering at the rocks with a half curious half nervous look.
