World's Edge Protector. It felt nice to say it. Roll it around in his mind, let it rest like a medal over his shoulders. He belonged now, a lion in his pride. Ink's thoughts described him well, whether he knew of them or not. Golden body gleamed under the light of Birdsong, dark chocolate legs moving his body towards the south west. Two toned plume swayed naturally in the small breeze that moved past him, reminding him that despite the warmth the breeze was relatively cool. Greenery reached up from the grasp of the earth, unfurling their leaves and straining towards the buttery sunlight. Brushing temptingly over his ankles, bidding him to dip his crown to indulge in their sweet taste. But no, he couldn't be bothered with that now. Something different called him. Something that could never be achieved where he stood rooted on the ground. Baby blue irises closed, taking in the wind that blew towards him. Long pillars drove him forth from a slow, leisurely walk into a ground eating canter. Chocolate and cream wings rose from his sides, extending and lifting. Aching for the skies that beckoned from above. The wind filled his wings, lifting them up as he caught the draft beneath him.

There was something so impossibly precious in flying. Being the only species that could achieve this, it was special. Orbs clashed with the sky around him, perfectly matched in color. Kaj seemed to have been made directly from the elements he loved the most. Gold from the rays of sunshine, blue from the skies above him, white from the clouds he dove through. Earth that crawled up his legs, reminding him that sometime he would have to land. As long as he wanted to stay in the sky, he could not. And this force tilted his wings, turning nearly vertical as he banked down back towards the ground. Where he was now he didn't know, but didn't mind. The stars would always guide him home, and in daylight the sun would do so as well. Glittering water winked up at him from below and a smile stretched his serene face. Angling himself for the river that cut through the land. Slowing his descent to land in a spray of white. Miraculously only his legs taking the brunt of the damage, should you call it that. Cascading droplet, reminiscent of rain, came down around him. Peppering his wings and mane, letting the feathers glisten in the afternoon sun. Sighing with content and wandering from the shallow body, casting his gaze around for any others that had come to enjoy the beautiful day presented to them.
