The GOD of the SUN

Burn the whole world down

No selfish desires, hate filled voices, or snide comments called him from his heavenly resting place. If he had known exactly where Ophelia and Cassiopeia were, he would have believed one of his only two true believers were calling him downward. Instead, a most curious mare caught his attention, and the great stallion furrowed his brows. Onni, the shaman of his patron land, a healer, and the daughter of the spirited Kri, now stood on his doorstep, and he could not pass up this most interesting event. The God of the Sun knew that he did not have to impress the tobiano with displays of great might and power, so instead, a bright, bubbling light appeared in front of the mare, dancing a few times before expanding into his shape.

The brightness was nearly blinding, but the color soon faded to his natural, burnished gold, and he looked into her gentle eyes with a curious expression. The gods were blessed with many skills, like the ability to read minds and know the hearts of the mortals, but even then, some things were hidden. He could not know what she wanted, and the question was nagging in his mind. In all honestly, he should not give a damn about this curiosity, but he allowed himself moments of genuine care rather than cruel amusement.

Something in her soul seemed more dim than usual, though he did not know her personally. Naturally, he watched the comings and goings of his herd, which he could proudly say was the largest and most stable out of the entirety of Helovia. The mare wanted guidance, but to where? Did she assume that he held all the answers? That he could give her some existential peace? The God of the Sun could not help but frown; he was not in the habit of giving peace to mortals, and this deterrence from the normalcy of his life was not entirely welcomed. "I do not know what you seek," he said finally after a good many minutes of just staring, perplexed. "So I am ill equipped to guide you at this time."
