The GOD of the SUN

Burn the whole world down

Obviously what he had said had startled the pair, and he waited patiently (no easy task for the rather hotblooded god). Golden eyes never wavered, but they softened. Wings settled more closely to his side, and he even rested a hind hoof, getting comfortable and prepared for more of a conversation. Rarely did creatures come to his shrine for a guide or to discuss difficult matters, most likely because they thought him a tyrant, wanting to burn down villages and plunder like a damn pirate. The simple minded could not be farther from the truth. At the root of his soul, the anger sprouted from one simple fact: he would never die. The world would twist and turn on its axis, travel around the sun that he made shine so brightly. Everything dies, everything is renewed, except him. The Sun God is forced to live in this world alone, loveless and unyielding.

None of his thoughts or emotions were betrayed through his golden eyes. After years of developing his skills, a stony expression was one he had mastered. Faking one emotion for another or non-emotion for emotion had become more of an art than a skill and this showed on the planes of his golden canvas.

When the mare finally did speak, he was impressed. As timid as the tobiano seemed, she held fire. Timid creatures died. Those with fire survived. Onni made her request known then, and he was surprised by how much her anger tainted her words. A darkness resided there that made her both more beautiful and ugly at the same time, and he was not sure which was more powerful. She seemed receptive to forgiveness, however, and that brightened the aura around her somewhat, and he paused. Now, the Sun God struggled between giving the advice that he learned through the ages or maintaining his prickly facade to keep the mortals away and out of his heart. He barely clenched his teeth together as he weighed his options.

"You cannot make the wicked see the errors of their ways. Torture, anger, revenge... the wicked feed off of this emotion like mother's milk; it strengthens them, and subsequently pulls you down to their level of equality." The God of the Sun spoke rather quietly, as if he did not want any other mortal to hear. However, his tone was honest and open, understanding even. "The worst punishment to an evil soul is forgiveness, kindness, and positive emotions because they cannot understand such selflessness. Do not taint your kind heart with the desire to make another suffer; leave such matters in the hands of those which are already bloody."

The Sun God shifted then, turning his head to seek out the traitor of the foal. He knew two who were masterful in the art of poison, and narrowed, golden eyes took on a hawkish feature. d'Artagnan and Lakota were in his sights, and he tore his gaze away after putting mental notes on their location. "Regardless of my opinion Onni, you have a choice. If you are still unsure, sleep on the matter. Clarity comes with time."
