A decision would be made for them? What did that mean? Yes 6 wolves were intimidating, but they were almost completely powerless against Phae and Apollo as long as they stayed in the water. She shivered again, as her body temperature continued to lower; dropping faster now that there playful antics had ceased. She turned her gaze away from the wolves, not wanting to meet their hungry stares. Instead, she pushing her muzzle harder against Apollo's neck, nuzzling him for comfort. As she pushed her forehead against him, she mildly wondered how unicorns possibly repeated this action, without cutting each other into ribbons. Could they not achieve this sort of closeness?

She listened as Apollo challengingly called out to the wolves. Phae could feel the vibrations of his words through his neck as he yelled, and somehow that was comforting. Had she ever noticed anything like that before? When she had embraced Tolio on the beach, not far from where they were now, did she take the time to notice if she could feel him speaking? Likely not - who notices things like that, except when your time is about to run out. Apollo was right, they couldn't stay here forever, nor could they go back to shore.

Her green gaze looked at him solemnly as she shook her head. "It isn't just that...We're in too deep - I couldn't lift off from here. And if we went shallower...well, it would be shallow enough for the wolves as well.." Fear has slipped away from her, as she began to accept that this is how they would die. They couldn't wait out the wolves, and if they went into shore, would they be able to fight off all 6 simultaneously? Surely wolves capable of mind-speech and this much patience and planning would have a fairly comprehensive strategy to take down the two equines.

"Any last words, sugar?" She said with a silvery laugh. If they were going to die, there was no need to do so silently. Besides, it would take hours for hypothermia to finally take them. And in that time, maybe someone would come..?
