Broad wings cast a dark shadow over the waters below, skimming over wave-washed stones and white-topped surf alike. Golden eyes scanned the skies and the sea in turns, watching for threats to his herd's land from where ever it might come.
But it is not a scouting pegasus he spots, nor a distant storm. Instead he spots a crimson stain on the waves, a sign that arouses instant concern. The cliffs stood tall and imposing nearby, and there is a thought that perhaps some poor unfortunate has tumbled from them. It is with this in mind that the giant steed descends to investigate, gaze alert for a body or struggling swimmer. He finds neither, but instead an opening in the cliffs from which the crimson stain seems to originate.
Flying lower, so that each downward beat of his wings brushed the water's surface, he manuevered himself closer to peer within. With some small difficulty his golden eyes pierced the relative darkness, studying the alcove. His concern peaked again as he glimpsed the head of a horse on the verge between water and rock. Unfamiliar, but at the moment he was unconcerned. Yet he paused, calculating an approach, before allowing the wind kicked up by the surf to drive him into the cavern.
Almost immediately he tucked his wings in close to his body, legs bracing to catch his weight on slick stone and long tail stiffening to help keep him upright as he skidded almost on his haunches. Grunting at the indignity of such of landing, the bronzen steed gathered his composure and his massive wings close before cautiously approaching the stranger. "Greetings. Can I help you in any way, stranger?"
