Azale Moniet

Today was the day; the day that Azale would finally put her two sets of wings to some kind of use. They were intriguing features, but they served her no purpose. Azale's wings were little more than accessories to her. She was tired of being flightless and having four wings when she had met horses with two wings who flew better than her. Who was she kidding? Azale doesn't fly. She can't.

Azale flapped her wings wildly, sweat dripping down her brow. Her wings had no coordination, they simply beat against the air in random patterns. Frustration radiated off the pale filly. It glowed in her bright orange orbs and showed in her angered white face. Why wasn't it working? Azale was flapping her wings, just like the others did it!

"I give up!" Azale cried, falling to her knees while sobbing. She would never be able to fly like the other pegasi. She was doomed to be a flightless pegasus her whole life. How could her day get any worse? Well, tears certainly wouldn't help.

After realizing this, Azale stopped her crying and gazed longingly up at the sky. She was a creature of the sky, born with wings to sail a sea not of water, but of air. Her eyes then trailed to the endless water, and finally rested upon a silver-gray figure on the side of the cliff. It had wings and claws and a beak and the slender body of a cat! What a spectacular creature it was. Azale simply had to say hi.

"E - excuse me?" Azale called over the side of the cliff, still laying down and sniffling. She would be kind, she always was. Now all she had to worry about was if the creature below would be friendly as well.
