always find my place among the ashes

Had she walked here a thousand times yet? Black pillars folded, and stretched pulling her through the cold land. What a shadow in the white, a stain on the plain. She wasn't hiding, but on the look out again;falling into the predictable pattern of her life. Back, and forth across the white steppe, the bridge between two worlds to collect more souls, more words. The two places were hardly different in her mind. Home wasn't really peace, yet away from the Basin she didn't have that either. There was a question that hung on the back of her mind, demanding attention. Did anyone really want that? Tranquility, quiet, free of disturbance? They said so, but never did act on it. Was friction a part of the calamity, part of the cycle? There was no denying how she had her own craving for it in times like these.

Blowing a deep breath, a shake rattling her head, and discarding her long bangs she let herself take in the barren landscape. It had been easier calling this place home, when there hadn't been a plan, but getting one. The Basin was a much better place, much better than the Edge. It was tailored for them. She wondered if it were not beautiful and perfect if she wouldn't want to stay so badly. Though Time God she thought was a bit of a grump, at least he didn't pretend to be something he wasn't. Then she felt the need to return to the Veins press against her. She had not seen Leander, nor any of his companions. Right now she ignored the feeling, knowing what a greater distance that was, and seeing a grizzled stallion with a "wolf" companion staring across the plains. Something was familiar when silver eyes lingered upon him. Ulrik, her mind offered. Sno was the only other with such a device, and she could certainly tell the difference between the FrostHeart's daughter, and a tall, dark stallion. Faelene would come after his comment, after his thought.

Proceeding with caution she did not know where he had gone. Her memories of him were that before the battle, and knowing he hadn't quite been there after. If she hadn't been attempting to fight on her own she might have known what had caused his own predicament. She didn't. Neither did Faelene know he had made it back only to scoff at Psyche's new leadership.

Stride continued to break against the wintry carpet, she proceeded with caution. Ulrik was planted by d'art, she had sensed similar personalities. She would guess he was likely searching for the outcast band. What other purpose would one wander through this place?

Tucking in a breath, she soon nickered to the double horned Unicorn. Then ushered her pace into a two beated gait, not to seem severely rushed to greet him. He seemed the kind to scold, or push away help or those to eager, full of energy. While Faelene felt he wouldn't want to wait all day for her to get there either. "Ah, Ulrik," she murmured, her nostrils wide for some minutes to catch her wind. "Looking for the rest of us?" She inquired, raising her head to meet his taller stance. It was only in a manner to view him better, noticing he looked more rugged. There was something to his bronze gaze she had to meet.
