"All are suffering, but we who pray to you most of all. Grant to us some ability to defend ourselves from the overwhelming heat, to staunch the fires and care for our friends." I had heard of the magic to pluck clouds from thin air, to summon rain and snow. Despite the waning strength of those with gifts from the Lady or her earthen brother, any help they could offer us would surely make some difference. Even if they could not fight their brother directly, they could at least aid us in our quest to support ourselves, right?
