The evening of Tallsun burned with an orange and pink stained sky, soft white clouds rolling over the head of the dun mare. She moved at a quick walk down a beat in path, cloven hooves leaving behind what looked like an elk hoof print. Her long black mane hung down her thick neck in tangles and knots, sticks and moss woven into the mess. Her large wings held up high, but she refused to let them unfurl and stretch as they so badly wanted to. Her hazel eyes stared straight ahead, taking in every tall tree she passed, remembering what turns she took and where. This was a new place to her, a new place that she did not know. Why take the chance of getting lost? It all looked the same though; tree after tree after tree.
Eventually, the Kiger mare reached the edge of a small clearing. The grass was ankle deep and lush, very inviting. Cierra stood at the edge of the woods, scanning her surroundings. She wasn't about to walk into the middle of no protection and wait for some one to stalk her. Her pelt quivered and natural instinct made her tail lash back and forth, stinging her hide with each connection they made. After a few minutes of standing in silence, Cierra decided it was okay to approach the clearing. She parted through the few remaining trees, feeling the ground become softer as she moved onto the green foliage.
Her head dipped low and she dropped to her knees, rolling onto her back and tossing herself around in the warm grass. Her legs kicked out with each roll, propelling her body back and forth again and again. Once she was satisfied, she rolled back onto her knees, hopping up with a soft grunt. She stretched her neck out and unfurled her long wings, shaking her whole body. The dust and dirt flew from her pelt, a few broken twigs getting tossed out of her mane and tail as well.
