Snö
winter will come again, soft like the first snowfall

If asked Snö would say that her father had not failed her in the few months of her life. Her mother, for whatever reason, had kept her separated from him. She'd longed to spend as much time as she could with her father to learn from him as she had learned from her mother. The short amount of time she had been around him with her mother he had kept the both of them safe. What more could they have asked from him? Nothing. So why hadn't they stayed? Why had they moved as much as they had and only visited? The questions continued to plague her, but she had no answer to them and neither had her mother.

Her nose found the raven feathers nestled behind Mauja's ears and the girl blinked in surprise. Feathers were for birds and what her mother called pegasus. "What's that?" She asked, nosing them once more. "Daddy, you have feathers. Did a pegasus give them to you?" She asked innocently. She hadn't seen one before, but her mother had told her about them. Everything she'd heard had been horrible, but it left her wanting to see one for herself. And equines. She wanted to see those, too.

Snö's head tilted to the side when her father asked about her mother. That was another thing she found strange. Her parents referred to one another by their names and not by their title. Mom and dad. Mother and father. No, it was Mauja and Psyche.

"Oh.. yeah. Momma's fine." Snö nodded her head to accentuate her point. "I ran away." She paused and thought for a moment before smiling happily at her father again. "Cause I wanted to see you." Maybe that would keep her from being scolded for running away. "Can I stay with you, daddy?"
