Instantly, Gaucho could tell something was amiss about the brute charging towards him. For one, he believed him to be andalusian - though of course Gaucho did not know the breed's name, he only recognized the confirmation. And yet...yet his colouring and his instantly aggressive nature seemed to counter this intuition, for this unicorn seemed the polar opposite of the gentle white creatures that he had come to identify with the breed. The second thing he noticed, was that he was as large as Gaucho, if not larger. This, Gaucho instantly did not like. Only once had Gaucho ever sparred a creature larger than himself, Archee-balt he was called, who had turned his bones to stone, and then had toyed with him. While Gaucho could at least be confident that this beast would have the same issues with bulkiness and movement as he faced, Gaucho would no longer be able to use his normal tactics, of literally throwing his weight around, into his opponents.

As the dark stallion charged his way, Gaucho pinned his ears to his skull as a defence precaution, before touching his muzzle to the piece of leather around his shoulders, causing 2 inches sharpened spikes of bone to shoot out. With a snarling grin, the Bay raced towards Tonka. Unfurling his massive black wings, his steely gazed appeared to flicker with amusement, as he launched himself into the air. Id-jit, Gaucho thought. Who charges a pegasus? As Gaucho soared up, he kicked out with his back hooves, aiming to smack the stallion's neck, as he tried to stab at a shoulder which was no longer there. Arching to the right, out of the corner of his eye he watched the large stallion kick out at him, but was unsure if this was an actual attempt to hit him, or merely a gesture of frustration of sparring a winged opponent.

Finishing his arch gradually, for Gaucho was no ballet-dancer in the sky, as his herd-mate Aryel was, Gaucho came upon Tonka with his back to the west, as the stallion reared into the air. Propelling himself forward with a few large beats of his wings, his body hopefully disfigured by the setting sun at his back, His stretched his hooves out, coming at Tonka's right shoulder. He saw the stallion's hooves flail to the right, as if trying to correct and strike Gaucho as he rocketed towards him, but he cared little. Gaucho's primitive mind weighed the variables of this spar, and knew that the only way for either of their hulking bodies to make contact, would be to take a few blows in the process. Besides, Gaucho was already in motion, whereas Tonka was rearing, and stationary - surely the bay had the advantage. Aiming to scrape his hooves into the dark flesh of Tonka's right shoulder, Gaucho was able to evade Tonka's thrashing hooves, due to experience and practise. What he would not be able to avoid entirely, was that big ugly head as it turned to the right, to bite at Gaucho's right shoulder or neck. With a grunt, Gaucho beat his left wing, hoping to push himself farther to the right, and into the bite. If he was going to be bitten, the darker stallion might as well get a bloody nose for his trouble, if Gaucho was successful. There was also the risk that his muzzle or eyes would be gauged by the 2-inch bone spikes protruding from the leather band around his shoulders.

As Gaucho rose into the air once again, he felt the hot feeling of saliva on the right side of his neck, from where the oafish brute had bit him. The wound did not break the skin, and the pain he felt was secondary to the revulsion of having this id-jits spit on him. Screaming a war cry, Gaucho once again flew east, positioning himself between the sun, and Tonka. He hovered low, only about 7 feet off the ground, well within Tonka's reach should he rear or try and jab Gaucho. Yet it was a necessary risk, for it allowed Gaucho'd body to be wholly silhouetted by the sun behind him. Lowering his antlered brow, he flew towards Tonka, keeping his steely gaze pinned upon the stallion's curved horn. Knowing what her bonded meant to do, Mara slithered out of his antlers and around his neck, not wanting to be skewered in the process. Gaucho aimed to catch Tonka's face in his antlers, and twist his head to the right, hopefully scraping that pretty dark head of his. Should he try and stab Gaucho with his horn, the bay would use the many tines of his antlers, to try and catch the horn, knocking it away.
