CHILD OF THE NIGHT</style>
Blessed with wind and darkness</style>

This was his home now.

It was so much different in comparison to the Basin. For once, there was no crunch of snow beneath his hooves, a strange but oddly relieving sensation. Above him, the sun shined brightly, delivering a warmth that he had not felt in his old home. Here, he would not struggle to find sustenance, nor would he resort to lipping up snow for hydration. Even though he had only just arrived, all of this was a wonderful change, and he could only hope that his new herdmates would welcome him as openly as he intended to with them.

Moving along at a swift canter, Mesec moved towards a grassy hill with feathered appendages stretched out at his sides. Perhaps it was silly of him to feel so free in a home so foreign to him, but honestly, the colt found himself uncaring of how he looked in his display of joy. His chains to the Basin had been cut, and while he was certain that leaving would one day have its repercussions, at least he could enjoy himself for now.

Rounding the top of the hill, the demi-god came to an abrupt halt and cast his silvery gaze out across the land below him. He hoped that he might spot the pale Ophelia, the one who had invited him here in the first place. Already, she held a special place in his heart; in her soul was a kindness that he had never seen before, never experienced. Oh, how he would do anything to repay her for this gift of a new life.

Allowing thoughts of the Chieftess to leave his mind, Mesec began his descent from the hill, his steps fluid and holding purpose as he moved to the more central part of the land. He wanted to meet those that called the Foothills their home; what did they think of the land and their leaders? Would they welcome him, would they show their home, teach him to be useful within the herd?

He would jump at the first chance he got to do something.
