CHILD OF THE NIGHT</style>
Blessed with wind and darkness</style>

As Mesec descended the hill, it didn't take long for his silvery eyes to land upon an approaching figure. From what he could tell, the spindly legged filly hadn't taken notice of his presence yet, for she was lost in an array of bucks and throws of her head. If he had to guess, it was not anger she was trying to get out, but simply, she was having a good time and embracing life here to its fullest. Mesec could recall himself partaking in such youthful activities in the Basin, but they had mostly been looked upon in vain, or witnessed by none as he danced in the cover of the night.

But then, just as soon as the thoughts left his mind, the younger filly slowed herself to a jog and directed her gaze upon him. When the light him them just right, he could tell that the girl's eyes were different in color, similar to Ophelia's. Her coat was unlike any he had seen before, resembling a palomino, yet holding a very light pink hue than anything. He could tell that she was younger than himself, but by how much, he couldn't tell. Her general expression was that of a shy and quiet girl, and when she spoke, he seemed to have guessed correctly. Having dealt with the personalities of the Basin for so long, however, it didn't bother him in the least. No, it was a welcome change.

"Hello," he said in response, dropping his head ever so slightly and offering the filly a gentle smile. While he was but a yearling, he already stood a great deal taller than her. One day, he would grow to be a stallion of impressive height, and it already showed in the length of his cannons. "Yes; I've just come from the Aurora Basin. Ophelia brought me here. Do you know her?" Although, if the pale Chieftess truly was the ruler of this land, then he supposed that everyone should know her. Mesec had enjoyed the lady's company greatly, for she had comforted him, a stranger, in one of his greatest times of need. Should the chance ever rise again, he would readily speak with her again.

She asked another question, inquiring of his name, but before he could part his lips to answer, another voice rang out and a winged stallion joined them. For a moment, Mesec seemed to have forgotten his manners and found himself marveling at the stranger's feathery appendages; so used to seeing a lack of them, they almost seemed a foreign object upon the back of a horse. A smile pulled across the colt's lips, even if he wasn't entirely aware of the action until a few seconds later. When the realization suddenly dawned on him and a sense of embarrassment washed over him, he drew in a deep breath and bid the stallion his own greeting. "It is," he said in agreement, mindlessly slapping his tail against his flanks. The ebony stallion introduced himself as Murdock, to which Mesec gave an almost timid nod in answer to. It was not that he was particularly uncomfortable the presence of other's, just that he unused to such open, simple conversations that consisted not of insults and loathing.

"I am Mesec," he said in response, picking his head up and flickering his ears towards the winged stallion, repeating his previous words in case they had been missed, "I was just brought here, by Ophelia." Now, he looked between the two gathered, and inhaling softly, asked a question of his own. It was unlikely that Hotaru would have much of an answer, just the same as Mesec if he were asked the same, but he included her nonetheless. "What do you two do here?"

"blah blah blah."
