The dangerous smile Roland wore on his lips broadened as he took in the look of surprise in Cierra's eyes. His gaze drifted down to the splashes of mud that stained her slender legs up to the knees, spraying across her chest as a result of her struggles. He grimaced at her disorderly image, cocking his head in harsh scrutiny as he met her eyes once more. Her efforts were clearly doing little to remedy her predicament, not to mention the mud gave her a less than appealing appearance; though she was ugly enough as it was, what with those wings on her sides.

Her voice held some notes of bravery as venomous words were spoken, and he found great amusement in the harsh tone she directed at him. He tsked, a frown creasing his forehead. "It's not proper for a lady to use such vulgar words,” he chastised, tipping his head with an evil smirk, taking a few steps closer over what little dry ground lay in the space between them. "If you make many more poor choices, you just might find yourself paying the price."

Roland grinned wickedly at his own words, settling onto his haunches and shaking his tangled forelock out of his eyes. "I'm just trying to rid the world of another Pegasus, and you see, you're quite the sitting duck." There was no compassion in his heart, no part of him that wondered even for a moment what the younger mare might have felt in reaction to his words. He didn't care if she felt pain or fear; all he wanted to do was have a little fun.

Cierra folded her wings to her sides, black and molding into the darkness that surrounded them. Roland cast yet another disapproving glance at the inky mass of feathers, his jaw tightening. Lucky for Cierra he wasn't an overly violent creature, and so he only entertained vile thoughts and eyed her with lips curled in disgust, but made no move to harm her. He would though, if she gave him an excuse to spill her tainted blood across the lush meadow. It would be a satisfying twist to his night, for he had seen very little of interest in this new land, whatever it was called.

His eyes flicked back to her face lazily, finding humour in the rage that played across her slender features. Did he hear an intonation of threat in her voice? “Or what? Are you going to try and chase me off?” He asked tauntingly, eyebrows arched in disbelief. He stepped closer to her, close enough to reach out and touch her cheek, but he held himself in such a way that one might think he was standing beside a rotting corpse. Her discomfort was endearing, in an odd sort of way. “I’m terrified,” he murmured, giving her a look that clearly communicated he was anything but.

(So sorry for the long wait <3)
