Imagine this for me, if you will. Close your eyes and make puppets with your hands until the scene described to you below is clear in your mind:

It is an eerily bright morning in the darkest Helovian wood. The soft flutter of a hummingbirds wings pushing air outwards and faintly ruffling the petals of a bright flower in the center of a clear. Each drop of morning dew reflects the image of serenity surrounding it. The world is miniaturized and flipped in every droplet. Faint stirrings of larger life lie beyond the clearing edge, but none enter further. The light that streams through the trees is like that of the stars.

Have you pictured it? Yes, very good. Let's go on.

Look closer and you will see that it is the stars. Each ray of sunlight is in fact a stream if starshine that strikes the earth and makes the meadow sparkle. The sky above clicks and turns like a nursery room ceiling and the day swiftly becomes the night. But it is still the brightest night that the darkest wood in the land has ever seen.

Do you understand the gravity of this? I should hope that you will come to understand it now. Should it dawn upon you later, you will surely feel terribly foolish for not realizing earlier.

The hummingbird has flitted away into starlight and become nothing more than another stirring of life. Seemingly from the sky itself comes the real wonder of the wood; an adolescent bear with a tail like a cat's whose claws catch the new moonlight and whose eyes reflect the stars. It is this young bear of the heavens that rolls in the grass and catches the stars in his paws. In the darkest wood on the brightest night, the bear waits for her to arrive.

What do you mean you can't picture her face? You're meant to know who she is already. You silly unimaginative reader. I'll have to just bring her here for you then.

Perhaps led by the unusual light or mere chance, she will come; the cat-tailed creature is certain of this.
