The flight from Janat had been a long and relatively quiet one that, surprisingly, he had enjoyed. He had been completely alone, just the night sky above him and the ground below. No one there to ridicule him or blame him for anything that was beyond his control. It made him wonder why he hadn't decided to take off years ago. He'd been too patient and tolerant of everything, he supposed. That was his downfall in life. He was far too patient with the shit his life threw at him and far too tolerant of the fools who followed blindly behind gods who did not so much as blink before hurting their followers.

Exhaustion swept over Leliel quickly and suddenly, forcing the pegasus to alter his course and head toward the ground. He was graceful as he slipped between the tree branches of the forest below and landed with a quiet thud. Both sets of his wings furled at his sides tightly as he began to walk. One did not simply sleep where they landed, this he learned from prior experiences in Janat. To sleep one had to find a place that was hidden away safely from the elements as well as other living beings.

The search went swiftly, much to Leliel's relief. A copse of trees drew him like a moth to light. He sidled up close to them and watched the forest through heavily lidded eyes. All seemed peaceful and quiet enough that the stallion shut his eyes to catch a few hours of sleep. In the morning he would feed and search for water then, in the evening, he would take to the skies again and put even more distance between himself and his homeland.
