The distant thrumming of hooves turned the massive head of a King who was justly disgruntled by such an unnecessary approach. He watched as she flew through the trees and paused only to confuse him further by resting a delicate face to the trunk of an old oak that looked down upon her with evident disdain. He was unsure if he felt the need to question her motives or allow her the privacy needed only for the crazed so desiring of partial understanding for their obvious faults. But of course, curiosity had a way of swaying the King’s most dubious persuasions and so he called out to her with a low groan of kindhearted greeting. With a bit of strain, the Pegasus moved forward, his head low and unassuming as per usual when it came to recruiting. He knew the inner workings of a frightful female and as it would appear, this one was no different judging by the way her shoulders peaked and her chest seemed to constrict with every breath. However, with great patience, the King paused before her to allow her the time and the quiet to study him without restriction, without prior assumption. "I would hope that you’re not too stricken for my company because you look as if you could use it.” But of course, the King had no idea that the girl had been running from just that- and even if he did, there was certainly a chance he wouldn’t have minded. Mares were often irrational creatures and they had an uncanny ability to make any and every male look like some kind of demonic immortal, starved for flesh. In any case, Thor had dealt with many apt excuses and many fabricated illusions about his own gender and this time would be no different. Or so he thought. He only knew that he would deal with the delusions once again because there was always a diamond hidden somewhere beneath all of that rough. |
