- The stars no longer burned against the blackened night sky. Millions of them now joined eachother in a warm embrace, spreading light across the lands. Beneath the shadows of the canopy an ebony figure moved alone. Swiftly the equine made it's way to the base of the mountain, just at the edge of the shadows. She peered through the brush, the sun hitting her muzzle slightly. It was warm. It was welcoming. Cautiously she pushed forward, first her cranium took form, then the long canvas of a mares body. She was now fully exposed and it was all too obvious that she wasn't enjoying this amount of exposure. Her body quickly became tense. An unknown land, unknown inhabitants, with unknown intentions. It wasn't something that this youthful mare looked forward too. Yet she stayed. Auds pinned to her cranium she focused on the edge of the forest, carefully planning an escape route in the event of a tragedy. She winced as a harsh wind whispered through the trees, when it finally hit her the warmth was drained from her body.
Emerald orbs scanned the horizon. It was quite peaceful. But of all the living, this mare knew that peaceful meant nothing. Anything was possible and she awaited the worst outcome. She shifted her weight several times, trying to adjust to the biting cold that attacked her from above and below. She wondered how long it might take for her 'suitors' to arrive, she rolled her eyes.
"Psh. A suitor."
It was clear she wasn't going to be an easy target, yet at the same time something weak sat on her shoulders, a weight of something almost. It was an odd aura that could be picked up by just looking at her. Strong...yet somewhat broken. It was more confusing than anything. The mare became lost in a bitter daydream before suddenly she was thrown back into reality. Her ears stood erect, something was approaching, but from what direction? She searched for a moment, almost frantic but collected herself within a few moments. She could only hope she was in no impending danger.
