and i'll find strength in pain and i will change my ways
It wasn't long before the mare had fallen. Her body landing on top of a rather unfortunate ice patch that had been hidden by the snow, and with her body haven shaken it up and pushed it out of her way. She shuddered, glancing annoyed up toward the patch of snow upon her pole only to glance up to see someone bolting toward her. Eyes split open in a panic, her frame struggling to stand once more only to have her feet continue to slip out from under her. No. She needed to run. She needed to run. She was going to be hurt!

But, it seemed that this other stag ran straight into the ice patch as well and slid himself, falling right beside her. She craned her head away, giving a tiny snort of uncertainty as he rolled and then coughed the snow away. Was she alright? Had he scared her? Casimir. Her name? She couldn't think. She couldn't even speak. Her mouth opened, a few uncertain mumbled words escaped her maw as she attempted to come up with something to respond with. She blinked twice before she noticed another stag approaching. Oh, no! Really?! She was definitely going to be hurt now. But, he didn't seem to move close, compared to the other stag. He seemed to chastised the other stag. A sigh on his lips as he turned to face her, some of the thistle's knocked a bit out of place from the dock of her tail before he offered her assistance. Then, he offered her his name, Shakespeare. A wonderful name, though she still felt uncertain about his demeanor. "I'm not hurt. You, on the other hand, probably gave yourself a concussion. And why would you rush if you can't see that well?" she stuttered a little before attempting to stand again. Of course, it was still in vain.

Her body was trembling, but not from the cold. No. She had stayed too long in that ice cave to truly be affected by this cold at the moment. She couldn't stand. Oh. Really? She wouldn't have guessed. And, really, if she had any backbone at all she probably would have scoffed at the stag before her. Golden eyes glinting in fear as he bent his neck down, so close to her. Please don't snap. Please don't snap. That was all she could think. And then,, he was turning back to the other stag, helping him figure out how to stand, and walking away from her.

Instinct kicked in then, and she shook the snow away from her pole and the began to brush some of the snow back toward her front legs. A feeble attempt to give her somewhere to step that wasn't ice. A tiny cough as some of the snow reentered her nostrils before continuing to push snow onto the pile. Her audit perking at the sarcasm dripping off his tongue with her nickname. "It's Resplendence. But I suppose Daisy is fitting enough," she muttered, not wanting to insult the stag in anyway and have him turn on her. One hoof. Two hooves. A bit of weight. Perhaps she could stand? She tried, and made it up higher than she had previously. Her front feet managing to stabilize on the pile of snow, but her back flints sliding precariously along the ice.

So close. Yet so far. Giving up on fighting to keep standing when she couldn't really push off out of the area she slowed her descent back to the ground and repacked the snow from where she had been standing. At least she would have some aid for the next attempt. If only she wasn't so small, then she might be able to reach some of the snow from the other side to give her hind flints something to stand on until she could hop out of the area.

Of course. That didn't make her fear of being so close to others any easier to swallow.
