Ares' gaze fell to the floor, feeling himself angered by her brash words of uncaring, but mastering himself before he started something stupid. After all, why should she care? No one else cared, why would a stranger go out of her way to offer sympathy. He berated himself for getting his hopes up and remained silent until she beckoned him to follow, back to his new home, a land called the Aurora Basin. A land he had never heard of before and he felt a flutter of excitement tinged with fear fill his heart as he carefully took his first steps towards the new land. What would he find there? He wondered if he'd be accepted, if horses of this herd would talk to him, if he could even find a friend. Anything. Ares needed a purpose to fill his empty life, someone to light a fire in his world and a guiding gaze to tutor his mind. He was a mere yearling and knew very little of the world, he didn't know if his ignorance was a blessing or a curse. Soon he would find out and soon he would don the title of Aurora Basin, his loyalties tied to one land.

On the way he found himself nodding quite frequently, confirming he had heard each warning Illynx gave him, taking in as much information as he could. It was hard travelling for the young colt, his lack of hearing an terrible balance made him slower than most stallions, grunting now and then when he had to stop to regain his footing. This was a part of himself he loathed every day and slowly he'd learnt to put up with it instead of stringing out lines of colourful curses. Why did he have to have the crippled body? None in his family seemed hampered by such things, maybe his father possessed such a limp, Ares had never met the stallion after all. He didn't even know his name.

By the time they had reached the Basin, a new sheen of sweat had gathered on Ares, it may have been cold, but the trek was a rather large task for the child to undertake. When he finally walked over to Illynx, puffing loudly as she welcomed him to the Basin, he grimaced once with an apologetic expression. "I'm sorry if I held you up, I was born deaf in one ear with terrible balance and it makes such excursions hard for me" he admitted with burning embarrassment. It wasn't easy to admit to his disadvantages.

Finally he looked up to fully appreciate the new land he had been brought to, the place he was now to call home with folds of orange forelock flopping over one side of his face. Taking in a sharp intake of breathe, his dazzling pools widened noticeably and he blinked a few times at it's beauty. Surrounded by mountains the land was a rolling mix of snow and ice, a hazard to his unstable body, but beautiful to look at and an amazed smile broke out across his features. It looked like a harsh place to live, but he could not see himself getting bored quickly here. "Amazing! I have never seen such a place." He openly admired, silver nose picking up the scents of many horses with intrigue and uncertainty as he turned to Illynx with a questionable expression. "How many live here?"

So many scents, silhouettes of horses in the distance made him grow nervous, he'd never been around this many animals before.
