The stallion turned as she aimed for his hind limb. She had not been prepared for it at all, but of course he would move. He seemed fast for his size, she had not counted on it at the beginning of the fight. There was no slow motion moment of understanding. Everything whirled before the mare’s eyes in flashes of color and thrashing bodies. Still, she was lucky and her hooves met flesh. She almost cringed at the feeling. She should have been happy that her attacks were landing at all, but she couldn’t manage it. Not while the wounds in her limbs ached, the scratches and bites down her hind right were oozing and throbbing, bruises were forming and her withers were stained red. She was a mess and she couldn’t believe what she had gotten herself in to- and all this for running her mouth so stupidly.

As she bounded forward in her confusion, something she never expected to happen… happened. Instead of trying to move away from her or turn to avoid her charge, the stallion launched himself towards her. Her low level lunge was no match for the stallion's rearing and he towered high above her. Too invested in her forward movement, the mare could do little but take the stallion’s flying hooves as he battered her chest. He beat mercilessly against her left pectoral muscles as she threw her head to the right to avoid having her face thrashed. She was glad for the thick winter fur that covered the area and deadened the blows slightly. Still, the bruising the stallion left was nothing to be ignored. Just moments later the full weight of the stallion's body slammed against her chest, completing his assault. Swelling would quickly tighten the muscles in this cold.

The stallion's mass added onto her own as he locked his forelimbs around her and pressed onto her body. An instant flash of pain rushed up her forelimbs as the extra weight further damaged the already injured soft tissues. Now came that moment- the moment where everything slows down and time ticks slower. The pain was great and terrible and lasted an eternity. It overrode any sense of awareness she had and she momentarily forgot to react. The few bites of the stallion at the left side of her neck went rather unnoticed, despite the fact that they would leave more bruises on her already battered frame.

GUNS! The screaming of the stallion was just what she needed to awaken herself from the flaring pain that traveled hoof to head. She didn't waste a moment more letting him thrust his weight onto her shoulders. To avoid putting pressure on her right front and because her head was still turned to the right, Kahlua swung her hind end to the left violently. The sweat covering her body helped her slide from between the stallion's grasp. Additionally, his constant pushing had shifted her weight to her rear and helped with the rotation. As her turn ended, they were again at a 90 degree angle.

The mare practically forgot the word the stallion had spoken just seconds ago, having little chance to think as he fell from his hold and redoubled his efforts to push against her. His right hoof batted against her left leg a few times as he dropped, but the hits were mild and only afforded a few scrapes to the limb. His body pressed against her left shoulder and her front end was easily pushed to the right due to the fact that her weight was still on her hind end. The stumbling motion once again put pressure on her constantly damaged right front limb, but at this moment it was one of the luckiest things that could have happened.

As her body rotated farther to the right, the dog's bite was redirected to the front of her gaskin. Again, a stabbing pain rushed up her body and she instinctively withdrew her leg. The stupid motion caused the dog's teeth to tear at the muscle. A new wave of blood trickled down her limb, covering it with sticky redness. Beaten and battered she made no motion to return for more. Whatever had been driving her mindless flailing had failed her. She looked once more upon the stallion's face as she breathed heavily and her lungs worked tirelessly to feed her aching muscles with oxygen. The burn scars she found upon the left side of his visage made her shudder once again before she looked away to the ground and lifted her right front hoof. “Leave me alone,” she begged him, the words falling from her mouth with a pleading tone instead of the anger that had fueled her prior shouting. Both her body and soul were wounded.

[Post: Closing Defense/3, 797 words; summary: Kahlua's chest is battered by Rico's hooves and then he falls upon her, successfully locking his forelimbs around her shoulders. He bites successfully at her neck before she rotates her hind end to the left, sliding from his grasp because she is sweaty. As he falls his hoof scratches her left front limb. He pushes against her, causing her front end to rotate around to the right. The dog bites the front of her gaskin and she lifts her leg up, causing more tearing of the flesh to occur.
