But sometimes out of nowhere
There's demented sounds of laughter

Varath turned his head to the side curiously when Vadim confirmed a silent suspicious. It had been over a month. With a grin, he nodded. "It has been..." he trailed, wanted to run away to the veins that very second. The black and crimson colt looked up at Mauja with eager excitement, dancing on all four solid hooves. "I am going to cause people all sorts of pain. I mean... I won't be able to actually hurt them, but it will feel that way! Like my father!" he exclaimed.

The only aspect of Paladin that Varath found worthwhile was his brutal magic - the ability to boil others' blood. "Vadim and I will be able to work together all the time to create realistic nightmares!" It was obvious that the young boys had creative minds and did not fully understand the depth of their powers... the responsibility... the repercussions.

Varath listened with rapt attention to Mauja, snorting in insult. "I am not afraid, weak or stupid!" he cried out. "I am a unicorn!" And he was. Well, half of him anyway. He did not have to mention the other half. The weaker half. Mauja's confidence in him rang throughout the child's soul. His life goals were close and tangible now, and he could taste the glory of his future. "Will you... teach us? Or will others teach us? Can we... well, I mean. Are we welcome here now?"
