The cream painted fae craned her neck towards the soft earth below. Silk-like curls fell down the depth of her hairline. The sweet smell of pine, and dirt were inhaled through her nostrils. She sighed not worrying about anything… or at least trying not to and staying calm. She had no idea where she was although she did recognize the place once she had first walked in. She had once met a kind mare named Phaedra who had happened to be there at the same time. They had talked for a while and Mystique even helped her find some sparkly gem, but just like everything else Phaedra’s kind presence was just another memory. The good thing about Phaedra though was that it was the first time she had ever seen a stranger out of the Throat when she had been there. It taught her that she could be kind to others and almost trust them so that she could talk to them. She ended up having a grand time playing with Stella, her adorable bird companion. Even though she was already a part of a herd, she did wonder where she was now? Was she part of the Throat? Nah, she thought, I would have seen her.

It had been days now since she had been here though and now nothing looked a bit familiar. It wasn’t like she decided to do this, it was forced. She had been kicked out of the Throat, so she kind of had to fend for herself from now on. Not that it was anything different than she had already done in her past. She had lived like this, a nightmare, for basically her whole life, so it wasn’t a big deal. She wasn’t worth having a place to call home she guessed so it really didn’t affect her. It taught her a valuable lesson, not to trust another soul again. No one was trustworthy these days anymore and obviously the herds had their chosen ones and the ones that were not liked and would get kicked out, like her. She flicked her head at the thought sighing, but keeping her lengthy legs moving. She hated living like this, but how on earth was she supposed to do this without living in fear and not wanting to trust anyone. She was only a yearling and had no one for most of her life so she didn’t really have anyone to comfort her or anything. The only person that came extremely close to her was Cera and somewhat Midas. She absolutely honored Midas with all due respect, but Cera, oh how she adored him, was the one who had stolen the trust. He was the one who was there for her when she needed him the most. He was the one who had comforted her and taught her the ways of the Throat and of life. He was a loving and loyal friend when no one else had risen to the part. Cera was her true best friend and she would always have a place in her beating heart for him.

Cera... She thought to herself. Oh how she missed him now! The thing was, even though she craved her Cera to be with her now, she wanted him never to find out, it would be better this way. This way he would never know where she was and he would be able to rise to his position in the Throat. She didn't want him to worry or be any kind of distraction to him. She knew he would be some type of a high rank. It was basically his duty already; he was now old enough to start really being an active member of the Throat. It was his calling and because Midas also was a general, Mystique knew that Cera would be whereever Midas was. Cera was going to be great at whatever he intended to do because he is great, but now she would never be able to see him again and wished nothing but the best for him. If she could tell him one last thing though, she would have told him thank you for everything and how much she actually appreciated him. She also would get this warm feeling inside sometimes when they were together and she would blush at the little things he would say. She never knew what the heck it meant, but she figured it was just how all friends felt, comfortable? Even though she didn’t know what the emotion was, the yearling enjoyed it and being around the caramel, handsome colt.

Mystique was now almost fully grown, now a yearling, and still getting mature. Her jawline was angular and precise. Her coat had a layer of shine to it, like a sheet of silk. Her legs lengthened and her mane and tail were the longest they had ever been, but very delicate. She now looked like a mare and had a very angular, but elegant look to her almost like a rose pedal. She didn’t realize how different she now looked, but she did enjoy her longer legs because now she could run even faster than she could have before. It was almost as though she had wings because she felt as though she was flying through the wind. The thought made her legs ache for the energy. Her pinkish nose twitched with desire and her desire began to haunt her. She shook off the thought and kept on walking trying to find some sort of shelter. She knew she was going to be here for a while.

A single salted tear fell from her orbs. She hated this she really did, but this was her life now and she had to get used to it whether she liked it or not. I’ll miss you, Cera.”. She whispered, trying hard to push the pain and thoughts away.
