The prospect of a guide had made Semira agree quite readily to traveling together.
So they ran, an almost endless race, briefly interrupted for the dragon child by stints of gliding when her wings caught air. Until they were there, the Throat. Quiet at first, then a bit louder, augmented by a kitsune's howl. Wetting her lips, the little silver was just about to add her own voice when an unexpected use of inappropriate language from her younger cousin had Semira jumping, skittering a few steps sideways. "Gee, Tandavi. I didn't know you knew those words." Somewhat reproachful, she nosed her cousin.
Sides expanded, wings flared, as she prepared to pitch her in her own shout. "Edge calls on the Throat's alliance to help defend against their invaders." Her voice rang, pitched as loudly as she could like she'd seen and heard Mother do many a time before. A second deep breathe gave way to her own imitation of a dragon's roar, significantly higher pitched than anything her parents could muster up, and not nearly as loud as it could have been if she'd had a chance to fully regain her breath. But then she could only wait and listen for approaching hooves or wings.
