onni.</style> Upon the wall, Onni waits for the return of her mother. Surely, Kri would return any minute. The Commander of the Dragon's Throat had been missing from the land, but the leader was known to adventure out on her own. Still, in times of high alert, the shaman doubted her mother would be gone, not in this night. The night that no one really trusted. Standing guard, like a phantom of colors atop the half-constructed piece of wall, the healer looks out at the world, her pale eyes keen. It is then that she sees a small figure, a filly, no more than a year old, running for her life. Eyes widen as wind rustles about her face, and the shaman takes a good leap off of the wall, gliding to an easy halt on the sand as the young girl draws nearer. Another, she realizes, follows closely at her heels, and the tobiano canters forth on healing legs, the sting of her burns still fresh on her body. The cries for help come like foreign echoes over the dark sand, and the mare rushes toward their aid. "The World's Edge is being invaded?" the girl asks, her jaw slackened with shock. She pauses, her legs coming to a stop as she glances over her shoulders, dumbfounded. Upon her back, Lyhty pipes out a questioning trill. Her eyes look sorrowfully down at the sand, her wing waving toward the children. "Go, go deeper into this land toward the great light of the fire. Tell all you see that Onni the Illuminant has raised the call for battle, in absence of her mother, Kri the Resolute," she says, her voice taking on a steely tone for a moment that mirrored the willpower of the stubborn bitch who was not here. "Those who are strong enough to fight are to fly north to your home." "We will not bow to them." And with that, she set her wings to the wind and flew North, a nervous fire burning in her heart. "" |
