Following faithfully behind Resplendence, Kahlua looked back to the foot-long gash that and torn open her thigh and shuddered. Where she had been limping before, pain with each step, now she could walk with relative ease. Resplendence had done her job well, finding them herbs to dull the pain and give them some relief. Still, the relief did not prevent her from thinking how ugly and terrifying the wound looked on her limb. She was not meant for the warriors life; if she wasn't certain about it before, she certainly was now.
An invasion... she could hardly believe the thing. So separate from politics, Kahlua had hardly realized there was any tension between the Basin and the World's Edge. She couldn't imagine why anyone would want to attack the peaceful members of the herd land she called home. After all, what had they done? They wished for peace, Kahlua knew... what was wrong with a dream for peace? She shook her head with a sigh. She would never understand the workings of the world the way their burdened leaders did. That's why she had Mirage the DragonHeart and Thor the GentleHeart to lead her, right? As Resplendence called for Smoke, Kahlua picked up an uneasy trot, catching up to her new-found friend. She was looking forward to meeting with Smoke again. She had found the mare most accommodating on every occasion she had met her. Reaching out her nose, in an attempt to brush it up against Resplendence's shoulder and remind her of her presence, Kahlua otherwise remained silent. She was in no rush to yell out and announce her presence to any errant attackers that may be left behind. .KAHLUA
