Catch your dreams before they slip away

I didn't hit any of the creatures, mainly because my attacks were so off. I was panicking, my second child close to taking its first breath. I was on edge, excitement and fear swirling in a mess of emotion in my breast, a tangled, gnarled knot that was slowly undoing itself but somehow creating a bigger mess. I soared through the skies, watching as a dark mare strode in, attacking a few of the creatures. My brows narrowed as I focused on the mare, watching her charge. I frowned, watching as the dragon-like tried to sweep away Dezba, and just as I swooped in to stop them, they gave up and flew away, battered because of the mare.

I landed, rushing to Delinne. I stooped down, touching her cheek. "It's all okay now love, just push, please. Not much farther now." I whispered to her, my words gentle. I turned back to the dark mare, the savior. Bowing my head in thanks, I raised it, a smile on my lips. "Thank you, thank you so much." I paused, glancing at Delinne. "I will be forever grateful." I turned away from the mare, looking at my mate. I felt useless, powerless to do anything as Delinne pushed and wailed. I waited anxiously for our new child, whose legs were black as night.

I stood, the mist swirling around me. I bent my neck, pressing my nose against Delinne's cheek, desperately hoping the child would come soon. Destry's birth had been brief, and there had been no problems. This child's birth on the other hand was far longer than it should be. Worry struck me as a sharp arrow to the chest, and fear came streaming behind it. I constantly moved my hooves, as though trapped in a box with no where to go.

"Azzaron being pissed off."
