Then it clicked. Azzaron. That name. Was that not the same steed who had attempted to thwart Kri off her throne? Mirage's heavy stare narrowed upon him, peering deeply into his own pools, as if she could slice straight through him and see what he was made of. Did he intend on attempting to wrest everything she had built up here from her clutches as well? "You are banished from the Throat, and the Edge will not consider your application until you are able to regain approval from Kri herself." The words she spoke were delivered with a steady finality. "You may tell her that Mirage DragonHeart set you the task." She added, by way of introducing herself.
Her gaze shifted to the dark and white striped mare, then, recognition finally settling within her membrane. "You.." she began, leaning her tiara closer to the fallen mare as she spoke. "I faced you when I took this land for myself. I offered sanctuary for those willing to follow my lead then, but you did not take it. Why now, do you seek it?" Was she being too harsh? Surely, if their home had just been invaded by not one, but two herds, they too would be on edge, paranoid, and unwilling to let any but the finest through their gates, to welcome only those deserving into their homes. Did she take pleasure in denying them entry? No, for she could see that they were in need. And she hadn't denied them entry, not completely - she merely wanted them to prove themselves worthy, before allowing them into her family, her home, beneath the protective shield of her wings, her flames, her devotion.
"Thank you, for your attendance, Dark Wanderer." The dragonmare spoke to the Outcast who lingered now. "As you have offered the Edge no harm, you shall receive none from us in return." A small tilt of her crown in acknowledgement, and the WeyrLeader expected the unicorn to leave soon enough, just as she promised to do. Akaith would be sure to keep a linering eye on her regardless, to ensure the safety of their home.
