"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Siska couldn't quite describe what took him to the forest. It might have been that his hooves wouldn't stay still. His surroundings were so new to him, and his curiosity led him far to places he had never known. Living most of his life in a safe haven, with his seclude herd hadn't readied him for the big bad world. He was tired beyond belief. Weak. His legs burned from the journey he had just undertaken, from his homeland. The penetrating sensation could be felt deep in his bones while he walked, the aching that never ended. The fatigue followed him, closer than a shadow. Some days, it was hard to even lift his head when he awoke. The young stallion would feel so frail, he wasn’t sure if he could get up to graze. On occasion, he’d catch a glimpse of himself, perhaps reflected in the water, to remind him of the grotesque burn scars marking his body. To his dismay, the now healed wounds had grown hair, but instead of the red dun coat it was white. Nothing could make it more obvious of his afflictions
He moved autonomously, carrying his stocky frame closer and closer, through the jagged rocks and twisted roots. With careful steps, he strode inside, wary of stones that might trip him up. Baring most of his weight to the right he kept going, relying solely on his limited vision. His damaged eye inhibited most of his vision, but he hoped in time it would heal and recover his eyesight. It looked much worse than it was, the injured area turning a cloudy, ominous blue. This only added to his unrefined appearance.
He stumbled a couple times, at first, getting used to the uneven terrain. His hooves made a dull ‘clop’ on the stone flooring, echoing back into his auds in a hypnotic way. He moves without thinking, all until he heard something nondescript. His ears twitched at the sound trying to find the source of it. He didn't speak, just waited, scanning for the landscape for any sign of movement

What in the hell was he doing back in this place? Shaking those twin horns the golden moved with an old grace through the muddy terrain of the pines. Though the gold was glad for the break in the cold, the constant mud was most certainly not worth it. Mud splashed up on the gold’s fetlocks, making his harks pin back. The gold was not a neat freak, but a handsome look is all a man has these days. Especially since he got that fawn. Snorting the gold lashes about his tasseled tail in anger at the thought of that small creature. The sickness which had caused him a lapse in judgment certainly was still bearing punishment on him through that black spotted babe. It was so needy, and such a burden. The gold was glad to be rid of it. Most certainly if he could the gold would have left the fawn tucked away in some hide out to be adopted by a doe who cared or whatever fate decided to do with it. Unfortunately however, the golden had yet to be able to completely leave it long enough, for always an errie feeling came over him.
It had yet to touch him so far, so the gold was making good use of his time to leave the frozen landscape. Was he here to find others? Not exactly, but it seemed, as usual, this land would not let him pass through so easily. A clop on rocks made those golden harks pick up and his two beat slow to a walk. Another was lurking in this pine forest. Regaining his composure by raising his head holding a proud chest the gold moved into sight of the other, who was now stopped. The creature was not too much to look at. Stocky, and redish dun color, this creature was not much to look at. However, the curious marking about his face made the golden stay. Course his earth eyes did not linger too long, but that tassled tail flicked back and forth. Nodding his twin horned head the golden let a small, pensive smile play on his lips. “Greetings.” It was all the gold said, for his luck here in this place was rather….sparse, and it seemed the more he always tried to hurry up this ordeal the less effective his sales pitch was. Still, no others had yet shown up, and this poor creature seemed worse for wear. The Basin would take all kinds though, long as they carried a horn, so lucky for this ducky he was about to be invited.

What Siska saw was surely not what he expected. Out of the woodwork came a a golden figure, who on closer look identified as a glistening stallion. It seemed so strange that a stallion of that beauty would be lurking around a place like the forest. What added to his appearance was a set of magnificent horns unlike he had ever seen. Siska had heard tell of unicorns not possessing the same single horn in the center of the forehead. His were wide set and framed his chiseled face. In short, Siska was awestruck.
“Greetings.”The brute uttered. He seemed almost in a hurry and not very interested in Siska. "Uh, hi....I'm Siska" He wasn't sure what to say to the stallion and felt very unremarkable in his presence. However he figured that there is no harm in introducing himself. It didnt seem like the golden was going to act hostile towards him anyways.
He hadn't actually seen to many animals since he began his journey and he could only wonder what other creatures existed in this land. He knew he was somewhat uncommon being a unicorn and all, but the appearance of this "unicorn" only peaked his interest. Maybe this stallion was actually a bicorn although Siska thought it was silly to ponder the possibilities or bicorns and tricorn and quadcorns if even such a thing were to exist. "Are there many like you around here?" He questioned hesitantly. He hoped the stallion wouldn't take offense but he was indeed curious.

That creature lingered his gaze on the golden’s horns, and for all his skill even he couldn’t help that grin twisting for a second into a smirk. Though of course he quickly smoothed out the wrinkles and pretended not to notice. It was strange though that being a unicorn himself he did stare so long. But, there were some strange characters who walked through this wood. This youth would learn soon enough the strange creatures that haunted this land. For surely there were several.
With warm earth colored eyes the gold nodded at the new male’s introduction. “A pleasure. Thranduil, at your service.” The usual greeting rolled out. Really it was quiet odd to take it on, especially as no one here gave or knew the customary response. Still, old habits die hard. A questions seemed pursed on this new ones lips though, and the gold waited for him to gather himself, trying to be as dignified, but polite as possible. Especially considering he hadn’t intended for this meeting to happen he wasn’t his usual charming self. The irritation of that new fawn was blocking his usual charm. Still he wasn’t bad company. So the gold nodded and kept a happier conversation going. His voice, smooth and welcoming. “Indeed. There are unicorns here, in Helovia,” remembering his stare at his horns, “many with all sorts of different horns and antlers.” And of course those without, but the creature did not ask, so the gold does not tell.
Keeping the virtual tour guide going. “Most of us reside in the Aurora Basin. I am a member there.” Thief, though he certainly was proud of his title, seemed to over the top for this. Seeming to break his train of thought the gold lowered his head slightly, with a more personal air about him. “Would you be interested in staying with us Siska? I could tell you more if you would like, you do look rather weary.” The gold was doing his best to try and remember what this new creatures wanted to know and what worked and didn’t work. Still, the Basin didn’t need much advertising. Soon all knew its reputation and came into its fold. The gold was less patriotic, but he was always eager to show some pride in something he believed he possessed.
