"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

PARELIA
Honest hearts are undercover. We are shadows on our own
Their hearts beat fast as they flew above the land course set to the south. She had left her ever growing babies at home, on the island, where she was sure they would be safe. In this moment she was focused on another of her children. How long had it been since she had last seen Ilios, a year? Tears blurred her honey eyes for a moment, how had she lost touch with her son for so long? A heavy sigh slipped from her lips as they made their way to the Throat. Would he even want to see her? Would he show up, or just ignore her like she feared so deeply? Penna cooed into her ear softly, 'He will come.' She turned a weak smile toward the falcon trying her best to embrace his words and confidence.
It didn't seem to take them very long before the land was changing from trees to sand. Taking a deep breath she thought, 'Here we go!' Penna moved away from her, since he was well aware of how she gathered people. Blue and white flames erupted over her body as she flew over the sea. She circled over the Throat, make sure to stay high enough to not threaten, but low enough to draw attention. Carefully she moved away from the island and back to the mainland.
Penna glided away from her as she went on her mission. Her black eyes were intent on finding the one person she wanted to see the most. Have such sharp eyesight was extremely helpful in situations like this. The falcon screeched with his joy and dove straight for their boy. Ilios looked up in surprise as Isabella screeched her displeasure. 'No Isabella! That's Penna, the one I told you about!' The bald eagle upon his back settled instantly bright golden eyes glinting curiously. Penna paused just as curious for a moment before grabbing a talon full of his long forelock. He screeched again and tugged before letting go and leading him back to the mainland. The stallion's heart pounded as he chased after the falcon intent on reaching his mother, he just prayed she wasn't hurt.
Parelia stood on the shore honey eyes looking across the stretch of water waiting for the cavalry to arrive. She was sure they didn't have flaming torches fly over head very often. She placed a pleasant smile on her well practised mask and stood proudly. Her long teal streaked tail waved in the soft salty breeze. She wondered where Penna went, even though she already knew. She allowed the points of her visit to float through her mind. The mare kept her fire burning, making sure they would be able to find her easily. As soon as someone came into sight she extinguished the flames

Pegasi were always welcomed in the Throat, and so the site of Parelia lingering on the opposite shore caused no alarm bells to ring in the dun's mind. It was polite of her to wait, of course, but she needn't. He also knew that her son resided here, and he wondered briefly if speaking with him was her primary intent. Still, these were his borders, and he thought it better to see if familial causes were what brought her to his sandy shores, or if there was something that required his assistance.
On flaming wings, Gaucho descended from the skies, moving towards the pegasus alight with her own magic. It made him smile slightly, for she seemed as though she would fit right in with his flock. Briefly he wondered why it was that she had never come to live in his sunny home.
For one so large, Gaucho landed with an elegant grace near her. His ever-burning wings folded neatly against his flanks, bathing him in a soft and warm light. Vorsa hovered by his head, hooting a bright and happy trill as her orangey-red body exploded in flames with her enthusiasm. In his antlers, Mara remained silent and watchful as ever.
"Parelia." He said, nodding his blocky antlered skull in greeting. His blue-gray gaze surveyed her for a moment, looking to see if she appeared to be in distress or if there were any other signs that might guide him as to her intentions here. Finding none, he continued. "What brings you to Throat?"
Sometimes, the Transcended found it amusing how little things changed. This, unfortunately, was not one of those times.
She had been flying. Vinati was safe at the oasis, looked after by some of the other mares. It had been some time since Sohalia had been able to stretch her wings, and it was a beautiful day. - A flight will do you good, - Astraeus told her, cawing affectionately at her as he took to the skies himself. She had quickly followed, if only to escape the nagging feeling that something wasn't quite right.
She had returned to the Dragon's Throat, and Gaucho had seemed pleased - she had borne him a healthy daughter, with whom he seemed enthralled. But for all that, she might as well have been a leaf fluttering by on a breeze. She had hurt him by staying away, she knew that - but how many times had he hurt her? How many times had she set aside her wants and needs for a stallion that had never tried to understand them? She wanted to be a family again - to be there for her children and her mate both. And yet...
"Agh -" she grimaced, her wings flexing to pull her higher into the air. Astraeus flew alongside her, his body raining golden sparks. Oh, what she wouldn't give for her life to be simple again. She remembered when it had all began, remembered when she and her mate had been a ruling pair. They had been happy then, hadn't they? No - Gaucho was gone more often than not, possessed by the evil Moon Goddess and forced to murder so many innocent horses. Skysong leapt unbidden into her thoughts, deepening her frown and inciting a twinge of guilt. He had killed her daughter, and still she loved him. What was wrong with her?
A shape on the shore caught her attention and memories of her time as a Forger and then a Sultana drove her to approach. Even if she was no more than a visitor, perhaps she could find some way to be of service and distract herself. Too late, she noticed the flaming form of her (former?) mate approaching. But she was almost there, and to turn away now would be to broadcast loud and clear that something was off between them. So she continued anyway, gritting her teeth in preparation to paste a smile on her face and get on with it.
Parelia was not a name that she was familiar with, nor was the form of the pegasus known to her. She touched down on the sand far enough away to avoid spraying the stranger and Gaucho, then came to a halt at a polite distance. Her first nod was to the WildFire (would he notice the hardness in her eyes?), and then she offered a genuine smile to the newcomer. She waited. It was no longer her place to speak up.
