i just want your strawberry kisses

She edged toward the dry earth slowly, a limp in her step from twisting her amkle on the rock and raising her head in a fruitless attempt to gain some semblance of dignity. Her attempts proved futile as she tried to sneak off, only to be openly mocked from behind. Her head lowered and her ears twitched backwards in his direction, glancing to the side to send a glare in his direction. It was needless of him to laugh at her when she was trying to slip away. What sort of man was he? "Bested by a rock and badly placed footing, more like, sir knight, and it is not every day I am mocked when I deserved no such thing." She didn't even try to best him, simply stated a fact and turned her head away once more, slipping through the shallows as water lapped hungrily at her feet.

Shamed, with a face that had heated beyond boiling point and an ankle sore from the sudden abuse, Cheyenne turned dejectedly toward the open glade beside the wares edge where the sun might warm and dry her sodden pelt, yet as dark hooves hit grass, she realized he had turned to follow her. Her eyes rolled in her skull. Was he here to ridicule her more? To torment her when all she had wanted was some time alone with her, ahem, interesting thoughts?

Why did he plague her so? Wy did he insist in doing this to her, to infiltrate her mind and refuse to see any good within her? He had made his depictions about her, and he was as his rocky pelt implied - strong, impenetrable, and hard as stone. Changing his attitude on her would be impossible, she knew.

So why, then, did he ask her if she was okay?

The words shocked her slightly and brought back her day dream. She flushed, refusing to turn to face him. Why bother giving him that much? Her tail flicked as the irate mare shook her mane, only to glare with equal parts angrily and dismally as the wet tendrils caught her antlers once again. She was tempted to offer sarcasm, but she really was not in the mood for a fight. Not at that moment in time anyway. "Just dandy, thank you. Go back to your bath." She responded, face downcast as she threw herself to the ground a tad too dramatically and rested her face upon the grass. She winced slightly as she did, her ankle painting her slightly.

"Talk."
