Hurrying down the slope, the buckskin-clad mare had found herself traipsing upon a strange substance that clung to her feet, slowing the forward pace she traveled through. Black grass turned to something even more sinister, clinging to the bottom of cloven hooves; she had left the dead dog before it could give her anything in uncharacteristic impatience, irritated with the flood of bodies which hoarded its attention. While riling masses are clumsy and slow, many feet are stronger than one, and many tempers rise hotter, all greedy and eager to claim a gift. She thought back to another life; the exile of an innocent mare, shunned for her beliefs. What was equality if those whose ideals did not match your own were banished, like black cats and witches?

She had come to a dark forest, deeper and blacker than the Deep Forest. Occasionally, she caught the stray glint of frightened eyes and heard the drag of quickened breath. Soon, the bodies became a dark, indistinguishable mass, and Huyana thought to turn back, but it was the creatures that huddled over which drew her on—if the canid corpse had aroused morbid interest, these spiders made her stomach lurch with discomfort and intrigue. They watched the horses from silver-spun webs with beady black eyes, venom dripping from their pincers as she slipped by. The largest lowered himself before the small crowd that has amassed, no doubt hungry for the prizes Huyana saw the creatures bear. She paused, ears flicking back with uncertainty. He spoke through the clicks of his beak, the broken words hissed as he watched them. "Yes," she replied quietly, if only to bate a curiosity that was aroused equally with fear; she wondered if she'd be blessed or cursed, like so many others before her.

The fairy and pixie, unicorn and kitsune, continued their pursuits of gifts, dares and treats. The curiosity, the intrigue, the enchanting, beguiling and alluring chicaneries, duplicities, and wonder cast their warm glow upon the duo’s serene sentiments, emboldening them to these heightened dreams of whimsy and fanciful twirls. A waltz, a parade, enlightened their movements and motions, twirling beneath the airy dusk, the ethereal bounty, the lofty and high arching moon, with all of its keen rays, all of its bewitching affairs, pausing only momentarily to survey the scene, like the one just before. Creatures gathered to be bestowed, to be delighted, or to be ensnared into a heathen withdrawal, silly munitions inspired by the wandering poltergeists, the cackling wraiths, the intoxicating, venomous brew of Hecate and her clan. As they approached, nodded to the familiar and the strange (absorbed by the nature of their garb, pondering over who was scattered beneath the masks and ruses, if they were recognized as their true selves or if they were cloaked in the creatures they yearned to be), the dazzling wings stretched to the skies, fluttering and flickering, and the garland of leaves and blossoms intertwining amongst the earthen, ethereal design. They smiled in turn towards the newfound beast, a sovereign of spiders, beasts that collected and spun silk, who churned and yearned for the world to be absorbed into their web (and just look how many they’d captured this evening). If Lena was of a weaker constitution, she may have blanched, she may have fled, or she may have turned her nose towards the beast, but instead, allowed the depths of her glow to persevere, to ignite and radiate, illuminate and shine. Imogen sniffed towards the void, but otherwise remained cordial, silent, a hushed, eager fey. Instead of asking, of pleading, of begging for something from the pincer-ed spider, for who was she to grovel for a piece of his alms and wares, the limber fairy composed a simple bow and a widened grin.

[Lena is dressed the same as her previous Trick or Treat entry: as a fairy, and Imogen a small pixie. :D]

Apodis

I've become much too good at being invincible, I'm an expert at play it safe, and keep it cool
But I swear this isn't who I'm meant to be, I refuse to let my life roll all over me...

When the rotting hound simply laid eye's upon him, he felt his ears grow, his tail seemed more heavy and he looked back at himself. Now sharing the same tail as the hound, except his was not rotting, it was full and fluffy. In a way it brought a new kind of pleasure to the stallion. To feel something different. His lips twisted into a grin and he began following the rest as they seemed to make their way onwards from the dog.
The skin tight suit seemed to vanish from him along with the god awful pumpkin. The stallion shook out his coat, feel as it moved more so with his motions, for some reason it had grown much long, now looking more like a shaggy dog than a equine. Fake fangs had found there way into his mouht, making all his canines sharp and gleaming white. His wolf ears and tail; which he had acumilated from the hound, now didn't look so out of place. He grinned wolfish-ly at his new found costume, suddenly feeling rather sly and spritely.

The wolf coated boy trotted onwards, with a spring in his step. Heading down the hill. The tree's seemed dark and omnious, not green and lush like they usually should be. But that did not break through his sudden good mood, cursed or not. Though the further he got the darker they seemed, the ground suddenly turned to a sticky like substance, slowing down his pace, when the spiders dangled from the tree's, it didn't stop him per say, though he watched his back more so. Untill he came to a stop at that of a; what he presumed was; the king spider. fall down to the ground, rearing up on its most hind legs. Fangs clicking in their direction. A shudder ran down his spine, but his face showed no emotions. The poker face, was one of his many talents. "Give me your best shot" Apodis sang gently, this time keeping his distance from those many peeping eyes and large fangs, that could so easily split him in half.

"Talk Talk Talk"

Carnesîr moved slowly, fluid movements roughened by the weariness tugging at his limbs at long last. He was tired of the endless path, and bitterly exhausted at the thought of how many more steps there were to go. When would it end? Perhaps he should just turn away now, take to the wind and scramble through the cornfields, prickly stems cutting at his cloven hooves. And yet... the horses around him pushed out, ignoring their weighted legs, curiosity and joy gleaming in their eyes. During the last two greetings-of-beasts he had witnessed, horses had been cursed with colors and dust, cobwebs and bat wings, but he had remained safe from the wicked necromancy. He had the least reason to be nervous mayhaps out of all of them, and yet he was the most cowed, lingering back while they leaped ahead of him, hooves thundering on the dry earth.

Alas, he relented to his curiosity, trudging drearily on as the moon gleamed and smiled in the sky.

Still his hunter's costume remained on his form; Robin Hood, giver to the poor and stealer from the rich. A heavy, mottled green cloak weighed down his haunches and shoulders, thick wool "embroidered" with chunks of beveled river rock, a feather clung to the soft hairs of his wispy beard, an arrowhead dangled from his tail, all glittering edges and sharp points.

He followed the path doggedly, worn by countless hoofprints.

And then he appeared in front of a monstrous spider, all clacking pincers and foaming mandibles, coated in a thick pelt of wiry hairs, eight beady eyes shining with a cunning light. It smells of rot and decay, mildew and cobwebs, and when it steps, the earth shakes beneath it's hairy legs.

"You are ugly," Carnesîr murmurs, ears flitting back to his skull half-heartedly, shying away from it.

So many voices ahead, she followed the noises and ended up in a creepy area. Creepy was actually a bit of an understatement. Before her lurching on it's back legs was a big ass spider, once Scarter caught sight of it she stumbled backwards and stared up at the beast. Her eyes blinked furiously as her brain struggled to compute just what she was seeing. What was this huge spidery thing?! It was far too large to be considered as a normal spider, no, it got so much worse than that! This spider could TALK. The mare felt like she suddenly had weak knees, her eyes bulged. It was like she could not compose herself, so instead Scarter opted to stumble forward and stand next to some others that where all standing around responding to the spider.

Would it eat her if she didn't respond? Scarter wasn't sure if she had a voice. Ah the day to day problems that Scarter encountered.

Swallowing to try to get some feeling back in her throat, the mare stared at the spider. "Trick or treat?" She offered, voice small and terrified. "I guess I'm brave enough to ask but I'm not brave enough to challenge you." Her eyes stared at the spider, however she still wasn't really seeing. Or was it that she wasn't really believing? What did it matter though, as long as she didn't end up as lunch. Scarter knew that she was far too beautiful to be eaten, her death was to be a beautiful affair, not as a spider's bloody mess. Wondering if the spider could sense her fear the older mare did her best not to back away or look scared. It wasn't a easy feat and Scarter wasn't sure that she had managed to act as if she was completely chill about meeting a monster that lurked. Helovia was a seriously messed up place at times, why had some come here agian?

Cypress
Happy Halloween!

Cypress had followed a beautiful butterfly, the metallic wings glinting in the last sunlight. She looked around now not knowing where she was. Feeling sorry for herself because she had not eaten and now her stomach was rumbling like thunder over rolling hills. She had set off at dawn hoping to get the best of her wandering, in other words feel good about what she had found. But now Oh, she was in the worst place she could think of. The ground was squishy, the dark made the trees stand out, looking like monsters trying to grab you in the thick of the night. No return."Ha ha, but that would never happen" Cypress said her green eyes glinting in the pale moonlight that had managed to show itself through the trees curling and curving branches.

The small unicorn walked her gaze searching, curiosity was tingling in her hooves. The foal had just noticed the large and frightening spiders that now hung from silky webs. Noticing the spider as he spoke she turned her gaze to him. He was on the mucky ground his chin wet with venom. He spoke his name the S exaggerated and long."Hello- Silas"Cypress broke off remembering not to say the long s in it. She had never met a spider before! "Trick or treat" her voice wavering a little in fear.
