"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

She had never been here, not yet. She does not realize how close she comes to the Foothills, to the place where Blitzen lived with his herd. She followed the coast and then a pathway, wandering up into the mountains. What destination she had she could not say – all she knew was that she had woken up restless. Wanting to stick to the north to avoid the worst of the summer’s heat.
She loved the sun, loved the warmth and the way it brought the plants to life, but she had always been more of a spring mare – all life and new beginnings.
This restlessness was beginning to get to her. In her short time here, she had already explored so much of Helovia. There were certainly more out there – visiting the other herd lands, for example, had not happened. Since Kahlua and her herd were kind enough to take her in, Alysanne wanted to make sure it was alright to visit the others before she did. Not everyone was peaceful, a rather tragic fact, and certainly she did not want to do anything to accidentally upset anyone.
Helovia had been so wonderful to her but always with that restlessness. Sooner or later, she knew, she was going to have to return to Nocturne. She left too much back there.
Perhaps the restlessness was a distraction from all she left, from things that had occurred. Something to occupy her time with – she had no doubt that there was more here to learn than she could ever imagine. Such amazing and brilliant things!
Before her, the path opens into a most wondrous site. In the early afternoon sunlight the field was bathed in brilliance. Someplace new. A field above the clouds, what could be more wonderful? In those bright spring-green eyes, a smile formed and weary as she was from the climb – she felt re-energized. She took off – not in flight but with a canter. Dancing and circling as she explored further into the meadow.
Far easier to focus on this above everything else and couldn’t she just do what was easy every once in a while? Would that be so terrible?

Cypress had been wander far away from that other foal. He was dappled with deep grey trusting eyes. She hated they way her smirked at her and even looked at her. She just hated it. And she had never really hated things at all before this, except for mushrooms. They had always a stinky smell and horrible looks. Even though she liked healing and medicine... they were just utterly gross.
Now, she was trotting through some tall grass that she had heard was called, a meadow by her sister before. She liked the sweet smell of herbs and fresh air. And the soft winds blowing through her main once in a while. It was a warm breeze, delicate like shattering glass. Emerald gems looked to the sky as a small bird passed reminding her of the one of Africa she had met in the Deep forest. And that weird shaped bird sitting on her lightly dappled back.
Cypress smiled at the thought of others that intruded on her everyday thoughts. Now, here in this heaven-like meadow, she would maybe find a new one? Looking eagerly around she spotted a flash of black and white. Then the tip of a feathery wing. Was a pegasus running here? Flying? The little filly didn't know. But it was different. The thing sped around in delicate loops. Circles. The thing seeped to be dragging Cypress closer, farther into the meadow. Cypress wanted to see what it was! But she only called out. To see if it was something that could respond in a voice. Just to make sure it wasn't an animal! Laughing inside Cypress called out with a voice like silk "Hello?" she paused waited for an answer but only heard the rush of bushes.
"Cypress speak."

With every step, Alysanne could feel her restlessness leave – lingering somewhere in the back of her mind, certainly, but for now it would not bother her. She rarely reached such peace on her own anymore – usually finding it in the company of others as they distracted her. Sooner or later she was going to have to face the cause of the restless feeling in her heart, the one that kept her up a little later every night as she took comfort in Mikey’s presence beside her.
She’d have to leave Helovia soon.
But how could she think about that on a day like this? With the sun lighting upon her white and black form she felt peace again. Her dance lasted for a while before she heard someone call out – and she turned to see a young filly standing there. About the same age as Aurelia, a pretty little golden girl with wings she had met not long ago. Just a little older than Arty would be.
It felt like a coin toss, whether thinking of her son would give her strength or cause her to crumble, but this time it was the former – and she joyfully called out a response before moving. “Hello there!” Folding her wings – they had become unfurled as she raced and danced across the field – she approached the filly with a bright smile. “I thought I was alone up here on top of the world but I guess I’m wrong.” From the cheerful laugh that accompanied those words, not to mention the smile, it was clear that she could not be happier to be proven wrong. She wanted to invite the filly to join her in a dance but she was content to catch her breath for the moment. The location of this field made it much less taxing to be active – the heat of the summer was intense in the lands she had seen further to the south. But here, above the clouds and near the northern seas the heat was lessened.
Coming to a stop facing the spotted girl, she moved easily into a conversation – not at all sad about the interruption but certainly rather curious about her new companion. “I’m Aly – what’s your name?”

The painted mare noticed her call. She must've because she looked straight at her. But one thing Cypress noticed, it was a flash of memory, maybe longing in her eyes. Just before she had spoke the words of "Hello there!" Her voice was beautiful, like a moths wings flapping as it was taking flight. It was light and soft like clouds.
The mare folded her black and white wings to her sides. She took steps toward the filly, a bright smile on her face. “I thought I was alone up here on top of the world but I guess I’m wrong.” A joyful laugh escorted her words. Cypress smiled back, something to do other then speaking. It would lift the older's feelings hopefully. The filly spoke in a calm tone bun not as happy as the others. She was feeling a slight down hill today, not as she always feels. But she knew she would get better, because she always did. Well, from these kinds of things. "Yes, I thought I was here alone too." Cypress stopped to look into her eyes. They smiled like her face, sunny and happy. She came to a stop in front of Cypress, then spoke in that wonderful voice again. "I'm Aly- what's your name?" Her face glittered in cheerfulness. Cypress had to respond. She couldn't just stand there. Could she? Could she just stand there, waiting for the question to pass? Certainly not. So, she spoke her words of greeting and then her name. "Hello Aly, what a wonderful strid you have." Her voice was soft. Not like she had been spying on the mare, oh no. She had just seen her galloping, dancing, it seemed. She had spoke in true sincerity. "I am Cypress" she spoke again, waiting for a reply from the soothing mare.
"Cypress speak."

ALYSANNE.
Paint with all the colours of the wind
The little brown girl with the bright green eyes was beautiful – a lovely spiral horn on her forehead and though she might not have matched her with the brightness in her smile it was still there. Aly took delight in the smiles of others, just as she so enjoyed just their presence. And this girl was adorable! Speaking such sweet compliments about her stride. It was silly, mostly, her movements, but that was why she loved it so!
“Oh well aren’t you just the sweetest. I just love to run and dance.” To feel the earth beneath her hooves as they stroked it, landed upon it with a patter, heavy in some steps but she liked to think the earth didn’t mind – that it rose up to soften her steps and rejoiced in all the movements of those that lived on the surface. Her wings were delightful things, it was true, but she always preferred to wander with her feet on the ground.
It made her feel at home, even when she was so far from it. But she was still catching her breath from her dance – exhilarated and filled to the brim with endorphins – and there was no room in her heart or her mind for troublesome thoughts. Happy, happy thoughts instead. Thoughts of her dear son, of all the friends she had made and of the delightful unicorn filly standing before her now. “Do you want to join me, Cypress? I bet you have a beautiful stride yourself.” She swayed a little bit to the tune of the wind in the grass and the distant twittering of birds, stepping in her spot with an encouraging sort of smile.
Dancing was not for everyone, she knew, but what better way to make a new friend then to chase one another across a golden field in the mountains?
She so loved to race with her sister and father when she was younger, forgetting their lessons and their cares to experience the world in such a light hearted way. Perhaps Cypress would let her share in that on this wonderful day.

"I like to run too!" Cypress said trying to bring up one of her favorite subjects. Running was one of her favorite things to do. She just loved the feeling of the wind in her mane, and the feeling of serenity as she galloped gracefully across the land. Her hooves always seemed to guide her when she ran, it felt good, a nice feeling of warm rays of sun. She loved it.
Cypress was so caught up in her own thoughts, she was being rude to the mare. When Aly spoke she shook herself for her daze. This was surly not the last time that was going to happen to her! Aly had told her she probably had a beautiful stride too, and Cypress liked it. For once someone respected that she could run, and that she was not just a weak filly. Aly smiled a very kind smile, Cypress liked her new friend, and intended on keeping her til' the end.
"Come on!" Cypress said running to her side. "Let's run!" She whinnied happily. This was going to be fun! Just like the times she spent with her sister, running through the green forests of their home, then grabbing something to eat int he fields next to it. Her home, one of the best places she could have ever been.
Cypress wanted to go, so she took off, pushing herself forward, her back legs kicking up a little dirt as she went. Cypress hoped it didn't hit the black and white lady, that would be terribly rude, and immature of the rose. She slowed her pace, only to look back and see a bright face on the mare as she always had. Aly seemed to be having fun. Cypress hoped.
"Cypress speak."
