Snö was not stupid no matter what anyone might think about her. She was spoiled, yes. She was vain and jealous and vindictive, yes. But she was a far cry from a stupid naive filly and she had her mother to thank for that because she'd had to grow up quickly as they traveled in and out of Helovia before finally settling there. It was the traveling that stuck out in her mind more than anything else in her childhood, aside from Tamlin's birth, that is. And because of that she often felt the desire to roam make her skin crawl and her muscles feel restless and jumpy. She could only blame herself for wandering far enough to find Felcie and his stupid guard. If it wasn't for them and her vindictive decision to release Felcie's slaves she wouldn't be trudging through cold water in the Threshold trying to throw them off of her trail.

The icy girl sighed as water splashed onto her chest and belly, yet she continued to press on. Once she got a little further downstream she would ditch the creek and take to the woods again, but after that she didn't know where she was going to go. There was no way for her to know if her parents were still leading the Plague and the Basin together or if they had both pulled a disappearing act like she had. Snö wasn't sure if she wanted to go all the way north and find that she was no longer a princess. The girl snorted quietly and rolled her eyes. Who was she kidding? She would always be a princess and no one could take that away from her.

"Snö!"

She stopped and the cool water sloshed around her legs. Slowly she turned her head in the direction that the voice had come from, and while she thought it familiar she didn't immediately place it with a name or a face, and saw her mother standing there. "Mom?" The name sounded foreign on her tongue because the mare had always been 'mother' or 'Psyche' when Snö was feeling particularly hostile toward her. Her ears tilted forward and she didn't bother to hide the shock on her face when she saw that there was something very important missing from her mother's features. Snö's body turned, her icy eyes narrowing on the empty region of Psyche's forehead. "What kind of trickery is this?" She demanded hotly because she could not even see a stump of where a horn had been and she would have seen it if it had been broken off, wouldn't she?

Snö took several steps toward her mother and stopped short when she finally saw what was left of the horn jutting from behind her thick forelock. "What happened to you, mother?" She forced herself to regain the composure she had lost upon seeing Psyche.
