"It must have for you to return without your pet."

Snö was admittedly shocked that her mother had paid enough attention to her when she was a foal to know that she'd had the mechanical wolf, and even more shocked now to notice that she had come back without it. Maybe her mother had been more observant than what she'd given her credit for. Of course that didn't make up for the neglect she felt that she'd faced all her childhood. It was hard being the child of a leader who had a whole herd full of other unicorns and foals to look after and make sure were safe. It wasn't just her mother that she felt bitter towards, but her father as well because neither of them were able to find time in their busy schedules to tend to her when she was young. Maybe if they had she wouldn't had run away as often as she did.

She wasn't given any time to contemplate that, however, thanks in part to the dog that jumped out and attacked. Her ears lay flat against her head as her hooves skimmed against him. There was a voice ringing in her ears, though, and as her hooves hit the ground again she turned and looked. "faðir." the word fell from her lips as the stallion thundered toward her, her mother, and the dog that had attacked them both.

It took Snö a moment to look away from her father to the dog that seemed to be herding them together. She grit her teeth together and snorted, daring a step toward the dog, whom she refused to be scared of because she knew him. "Thais!" She said loudly. "No drip, drop!" Was she crazy for thinking that the command would mean anything? For all she knew Monster was dead and this dog was just one that looked too much like him for her to ignore.
