have you seen that girl?

"Do not be afraid, Ayelet."

The girl's soul quivers, the liquid glass gently rippling, light gliding over the surface in a beautiful, swift motion. Her thick glass lids close gently as her name is rolled off the tongue of someone she barely knew. Her hearts beats begin in a stranger rhythm, one that showed her fear without her truly expressing it. She gazes at him as his soft words slip out again, saying he will not harm her. She frowned, frustrated that she could not hear his heart beat as she can hear her own, or see her own. Hearts change rhythm when one lies. She whispers to herself, her soul's thoughts echoing through her glass body. She looks at the stallion just as he speaks again.

"If the world allows it."

The way his crimson eyes glazed over for a moment told the girl he was thinking of something. She understands his words and the reasons behind them. "And if fate allows." Her sparkling eyes dim as she sees her daughter, trembling over her bloodied body. She need not swallow back her tears, for there are none to be wept. All the tears she had were taken from her when she was given a second chance. It was as though the Gods sapped away her tears to keep her from weeping day and night for the second chance she didn't deserve. She need not inhale to keep herself in check, for there were no lungs to hold that air. Thinking deeper about these things made her want to crumble, brake her own body, release her chained soul. In fact, that is how she has earned the crack along her face, to show she has tried once before to destroy herself. The Gods had shamed her when she first tried to throw herself off a cliff, hoping to finally feel at peace when her body shatters upon the ground. Yet somehow, they took her body and gently set her in a forest, away from edges. She assumed the reason they gave her a crack across her face was to constantly remind her she was to move forward and be happy about her second chance.

But she wasn't, nor would she ever be.

The masculine voice of the black stallion takes her forward, and she blinks, stunned for a moment. It felt like she had been standing there for hours, but in fact it had only been minutes, maybe even seconds. Nato, the steed's name was, began to speak of a home protected by a near invisible wall made of the same material as her. Glass. Yet she was a special type of glass, one that no one would find anywhere else, which gave her the slightest twinge of joy within her lost soul. She was one-of-a-kind, no other to be made of her exact matter. This was the clearest memory, watching the Gods take the tears of her mourning herd and making them into glass, granting her a new form to possess. The World's Edge. She replays the name over in her head. "Is it really the Edge of the World?" Such a place as this couldn't really hold the End of the World now could it? She stands for a moment, a gentle, cool breeze playing with her liquid hair.

She stands silent for several moments following, contemplating her next moves. Should the girl seek out a herd, a place where she could be safe? She knew being alone in a strange, foreign land was a dangerous thing, especially for someone as fragile in body and mind as her. Finally she has her mind made up, her thoughts collected as best she can while in the presence of a predator. "Take me." Her words are soft, yet given a brush of confidence, something she has forgotten in these many painstaking years. She prepares to walk, wishing to see this 'World's Edge' this stallion has explained to her. She waits for him to lead the way, hesitant about her decision. What if he was misleading her, trying to ensnare her in his dangerous trap? She tries not to think of this, and instead admires Mother Moon's radiance, praying upon her that she will be safe during this journey.

the one with the fragile laugh and killer smile?
