There is something behind the throne
Quilyan
greater than the king himself.
He lands in a flurry of gold and white, and he is immediately in awe of the spectacle before him. The prince had followed his princess, you see, and upon losing her in the crowd, he had panicked. He had seen what had encompassed the Marsh, after all, and he felt better for being able to keep an eye on his Lady. Not to mention the giant, gleaming tree that had caught his attention and beckoned him closer. And so now he stands on the edge of the Meadow, taking in the sight before him. Never has he seen so many gathered in one place, not even at herd meetings, and for a moment the realization sets his mind reeling. It takes a gentle, mental nudge from Zarina to get him going again.

He snorts and, eying the tree warily, begins to push his way through the crowd. He is not impolite, but he is insistent, and soon he catches sight of his beloved as she, too, is jostled by the many bodies surrounding the tree. With her in sight and no danger to be seen, he turns his attention to the tree. Even he, who has seen many wonders in his life, is impressed. The tree rivals anything he saw in his homeland, and that is saying something indeed, seeing as he was a crown prince. He has seen expensive, and ornate, and elegant, and this tree embodies all of those things and more. The most interesting thing is that so many can gather around it without the threat of a fight. Perhaps that little tidbit would be worth something one day.

As he mused about his surroundings, he worked his way steadily closer and closer to Resplendence. He reaches out with a nicker to announce his presence, not wishing to startle her, and tries to brush her shoulder with his muzzle. Something about the feeling in the air makes him want to be close to her. She is, after all, the closest thing to family he has now. Perhaps one day they would continue their lines. The thought brings a smile to his face, and he stands in silence and peace.
