Ever curious, the sight of something odd was bound to draw the girl like a jackdaw to a shiny trinket. She followed the mass migration of all things hooved towards this one particular tree, and her blue eyes widened like baubles at the sight of it. Oh, it was beautiful, and everybody clamoured around its roots like children at...well, Christmas. Nyx herself hung back, not wanting to press through the mass throng to see the gifts at the base - those who waited got the best stuff, right? Unwilling to barge or shove, the silver woman lingered, watching with hawklike eyes as the others swarmed around the tree like maggots on a carcass. Finally she could contain herself no longer, and trotted through a space to the base of the tree. There was something hauntingly magical about this place, and Nyx felt a shudder of repressed glee run down her spine. She looked up to the phoenix on top, noting the flaming glory of the creature. "Ooh," she cooed, oggling it. Feeling like she was intruding, she took a few steps back and away from the crowd of other equines, still lost in the beauty of the tree and its feathered star. Perhaps she would get something, as others seemed to - or perhaps she would get a giant sack of dung, who knew. Likely the latter, given her luck, but beggars really couldn't afford to be choosers. |
